OMGClayAiken and Vaga_Lion flips for $60k per hand

Phil Galfond, aka OMGClayAiken had a very profitable day yesterday, winning close to $400K combined at PLO and No-Limit hold’em. Most of his profit’s, though, came from making $60K flips with Vaga_Lion. As far as I could see, they made 26 flips, and Galfond won 17 of them, with one ending in a tie. All in all, that should amont to about $270K in profits just from these hands.

This flip could be mistaken for a real hand

Vaga_Lion must have been happy to see AK in this flip, but when the cards were turned over, he was actually a small underdog, and to add insult to injury, Galfond rivered a full house.

Galfond is dominated before the flop, and even more so after the flip, but is saved by the runner runner flush.

Vaga_Lion must have been quite optimistic about his prospects when these hands were on their backs. And though the flop looked very good for him, he must have been less than thrilled with the turn. The river sealed his fate, and must have been a solemn confirmation that this was not his day

Durrrr has three kings in his hand, but it is the lowly deuce that wins him a $74K pot.

This hand is quite peculiar. Having three of a kind in your hand in PLO is not necessarily very good, but heads up with kings, it is at least a playable hand. That he would hit trips with his side card was probably a very pleasant surprise. He made a small bet on the flop, enticing Sirens to take a stab at the pot, something that Sirens was quick to do with his flush draw. Of course, the ‘problem’ with durrrr’s hand is that it has very little chance to improve, so even with trips, he was only a 3-2 favourite on this flop. The turn gave Sirens a few more winners, but alas, the river was no help and gave durrrr the largest pot of the day.

This pot was part of a heads-up match between the two players, one which durrrr ended up winning by just over $66K. Other than this, it was quiet at the higher tables. Let’s hope for some more action in the days to come.
