In a very quiet period, the most notable action was a short session of $500/$1000 between kingsofcards and Patrik Antonius. It has been the only game going at the higher levels, so it is no surprise that the largest pot from these two days involved these two players.
Antonius flops top pair, but kingsofcards overtakes him on the turn with his flushdraw and overcards. $163K pot.
Not a very difficult hand to analyze after the flop since no one seems to be even considering folding top pair heads up on the flop in these games. Kingsofcards, on the other hand had no reason to go anywhere with his hand, and at the same time he was able to make the last big bet, something that also gives him fold equity in this spot. When the cards were flopped over, kingsofcards were a marginal favourite and all but locked up the hand when he hit the jack on the turn.
luvtheWNBA makes a big bluff on the river, but storkdelamork makes a good call to take a $64K pot.
The largest pot, measured by the number of big blinds, came in the hand above, and is another example of how difficult it is to push anyone off a hand when playing heads-up. I am not sure how comfortable Storkdelamork was in calling the big bet on the end, but it seems to me that if luvtheWNBA held a strong hand he would have 4-bet the turn in view of all the draws that his opponent could hold. In that case, it would be easier to get paid off on the turn than on the river. However, it is difficult to say without having played through the other hands in the session.
