I don’t know if Browndog19 read our report from the other day, but if he did, maybe he got the motivation to make some better plays in his next sessions…. I am just joking, of course, but regardless of the reason, he must have been playing some really inspired poker over the last couple of days. A $290K win over a massive 6123 hands is really impressive, so it will be interesting to see where he goes from here.
Browndog19 turns top set and wins a $106K pot when Brian Townsend misses his flush draw.
This was Browndog19’s largest win of these sessions, and the key to this hand was obviously the king of hearts that fell on the turn. Brian Townsend, having decided to not make a continuation bet on the flop, takes a stab at the pot on the turn with his nut flush draw. Unfortunately for Townsend, Browndog19 had turned the nuts, so he wasted no time getting his money in.
Since Townsend doesn’t even have a pair to go along with his flush draw, the call he makes on Browndog19’s re-raise is marginal at best. If he has to rely solely on the draw, he does not have the sufficient pot odds to make the call. I guess he was hoping that Browndog19’s range would include some drawing hands and that an ace could be an additional winner, but even so, the call seems a bit dubious.
Brian Townsend flops the nut straight and fades a bunch of winners to win a $117K pot.
Brian Townsend got his revenge by winning the largest pot of the day. Townsend flopped the nuts, but even so, he was just a 56% favorite to win the pot. Browndog19 tried to represent a lot of strength by check raising the flop, but was left to rely on his draws when Townsend moved in. This time around it wasn’t meant to be, but I am sure the total result was a nice consolation.
