Yesterday I presented the complete results from January, so today we will look a bit closer at what went on at the tables.

Even though there wasn’t the huge action we saw when Isildur1 was around, there were plenty of large pots for us to see. Not surprisingly, Ziigmund was the player who were involved in the greatest number of these posts, and he came out on the winning end of the majority of them.

From this table you can see that the seven games have almost caught up to PLO as the most popular game, while hold’em is really falling behind in popularity. There could be many reasons for this, but I think that for many of these players, playing only hold’em gets a bit boring. PLO has a lot of action and the seven games have the variety, so hold’em seems a bit stale in comparison. This is a bit ironic seeing how hold’em was considered such an action game at the start of the poker boom. Times change, I guess.
