Another day, another 4000 hands played by Isildur1. I am not sure of if he has any time for bathroom breaks, but he is certainly putting in some serious time in front of the computer these days. Yesterday was not the most successful result wise, but there was a lot of interesting poker. PostflopAction was the big winner for the day, and almost his entire results of the day can be attributed to the 1109 hands of $200/$400 PLO he played against Isildur1.
PostflopAction flops a straight but can’t overcome Isildur1’s twp pairs and flush draw. $141K pot
Even though the overall results weren’t very good for Isildur1 at least he had the pleasure to win the largest pot of the day. Both players flopped very big hands so they had their money in the pot at the speed of sound. After the flop, PostflopAction was a very slight favorite but it was close enough to be considered a coinflip. The heart on the turn took all the suspense out of the hand, however, but I am sure that Isildur1 was not upset about that.
Both players all in before the flop and PostflopAction’s aces hold up. $119K pot.
When playing heads-up, and particularly when you are paying deep, you will 3 and 4 bet a lot of hands besides aces, and that is why Isildur1 played his hand so aggressively in this spot. Obviously, had he known that PostflopAction’s 4 bet positively showed exactly aces, he would not have made the 5 bet. Even though Isildur1’s hand here is very good, it is still more than a 7-3 underdog against PostflopAction’s aces, and the pot is not laying sufficient odds to make up for that. I guess, that when PosflopAction moved in, Isildur1 had a pretty good idea about what was going on, but by that time it was all too late.
The flop all but decided where the chips were going to end up, and even though the turn gave Isildur1 a few more outs, the river brought no joy for the Swede.
Isildur1 hits a lucky river to win a $136K pot.
Isildur1 flops top two pairs, but PostflopAction improves on the turn. $106K pot.
Isildur1 triple-barrels, but PostflopAction picks him off. $102K pot
