Not a day of huge action, but we did see an interesting match between durrrr and Cole South, though not at the monstrous stakes that we have seen over the past few days. Over the 376 hands they played, durrrr came out a $16K winner, so not really a huge swing for these players. There were two six-figure winners, harrington25 and LarsLuzak while Gus Hansen continued his march downswing dropping close to $200K.
Cole south turns a straight to beat Hansen’s two pairs. $122K pot
Cole South was the fortunate winner of the largest pot of the day, but it came in a hand with Gus Hansen and not in the match against durrrr. And, from Gus Hansen’s point of view the hand must feel typical for what has been going on in March. When the money went in, Hansen was better than a 3-1 favorite, but when South hit the gutshot on the turn, Hansen was instead drawing very thin.
It might have been a quite marginal decision by South to shove on the flop, but Hansen’s hand was a bit of a worst case scenario for him since Hansen had some of his winners blocked. So if you take South’s equity against Hansen’s raising range on the flop, I guess South’s equity is just about good enough to justify his play.
Apart for this, there were no other hands over $55K, so you can look up those in the hand search section on the front page. Instead, I will leave you with the results of yesterday’s heads-up matches:
