Durrrr continues his trend of late and is putting in a great number of hours at the tables. Last night he played almost twice as many hands as anyone else and was rewarded with a nice $439K win. He lost $96K in a long match against ZeeJustin, but apart from that there were not many things that didn’t go his way.
Durrrr rivers a full house and gets Cole South to pay him off.
Most of durrrr’s profit came in the seven game, which is a bit ironic since he has stated repeatedly that limit games sucks big time. Luckily for him, there are enough big bet hands in between the O8 and Razz to make sitting down worth his while. This hand was the largest one of the day, and since we can’t see Cole South’s hand it is difficult to say anything sensible about the play. It is interesting, howeve, to try to guess what South held that enabled him to make the call on the end. It is possible that he held a 3 in his hand, but I think it is more likely that he made a marginal call with a bare ace or perhaps A7xx. It could make a good topic for discussion in the forum, I guess.
durrrr and NEKOTYAN are all in preflop with tens against nines. $174K pot
Obvously, it is not to everyone’s liking to get 150 big blinds in before the flop with these hands, but I think that once NEKOTYAN made the 4-bet, his fate was sealed. Durrrr will never fold his tens to the four bet, and NEKOTYAN is pot committed when durrrr shoves.
I ran a quick simulation on Pokerstove and assumed that NEKOTYAN range was all pairs 7 and higher , AK and AQ both suited and not, KQs + a couple of random bluffs. Against the combination of these hands, durrrr has almost 56%, so it is easy to see why his shove will be profitable in the long run. NEKOTYAN, on the other hand is getting almost 3-2 on his call, so let’s see how he fares against durrrr’s range. It is not easy to say for sure, but I gave durrrr all the pairs from 99 and above in addition to all hands better than AQ. I also threw in a couple of bluffs, and with that NEKOTYAN’s equity was 41%. I have a feeling that durrrr’s range could actually be wider in this spot. He 3-bets very frequently and he knows that his opponent is aware of that, so it could be he puts NEKOTYAN on a fairly wide 4-bet range. Regardless, even when putting durrrr on a fairly tight range for his shove, we see that it is correct for NEKOTYAN to call, so all in all it was quite logical or the money to go in preflop on this hand.
Durrrr turns two pairs but Cole South rivers a flush to win a $153K pot
72s wins durrrr a $142K pot.
