After a couple of days off, Isildur1 was back at the tables yesterday to continue his comeback, and day 2 was definitely better for him than day 1 was. Urindanger was soundly beat by $83K in the $50/$100 PLO game and then he also played a very evenly matched $100/$200 PLO game against David Benefeld.
Benefield’s aces turn into a set on the river to win him an $80K pot.
This was, by far the largest pot of the day, and it was one of those classic PLO hands where both players had good cause to get their chips in and just had to wait and see what the dealer have in store them. Isildur1 is significantly dominated on this flop (only 28% equity), but with a decent flush draw and a double belly buster straight draw there is no way that he is not going to play his hand fast. As for Benefield, the nut flush draw, a gut shot draw and a pair of aces that might very well be good gives him a no-brainer decision as well.
Isildur1 rivers a flush to win a $36K pot.
Sometimes it is kind of wrong to say that a player is drawing since it is quite possible to be a favorite even if you are behind on the flop. This hand would be the prime example of this, and I can’t really remember seeing a hand where the player who is drawing is such a big favorite as here. Isildur1 has 14 straight winners in addition to the 9 flush outs making him a 78% favorite to his hand. The rare thing about his hand is not only the massive draw that Isildur1 is holding, but also that his opponent has absolutely no blockers and, in addition, very few re-draws. The jack of hearts on the turn helps a bit, of course, but still Isildur1 has 21 winners making him a slight favorite.
Isildur1’s aces holds up in a $27K pot.
