Jared Bleznick, aka harrington25 was having himself a very good time in the different cap games yesterday. Playing everything from $50/$100 to $500/$1000, he managed to net a nice $160K win more than half of which came in a 220 hand match against Ziigmund. Ziigmund, however, got it all back from Urindanger by beating the latter by almost a buy in over 90 hands of regular $500/$1000 PLO.
Ziigmund turns the best possible card and wins a $165K pot.
It doesn’t happen often, but sometimes a card peels off that just could not be more perfect even if you were dealing off the bottom in your local home game. This was exactly the case for Ziigmund on this hand, when he went from being a 2-1 dog on the flop to a 7-1 favorite on the turn. Play wise, the most interesting aspect of this hand is whether or not Urindanger should call Ziigmund’s shove on the turn. He is getting almost exactly 2-1 on this call, but can he expect to have that equity when the cards are turned over?
The thing is, we have seen Ziigmund make semi bluffs on the turn a lot of times, so it is very difficult for Urindanger to lay down two pairs with a gut shot straight draw in this spot. If is very difficult to peg down a range for Ziigmund here, so I guess that Urindanger just decided to go with the hand partly to show his opponent that he wouldn’t get run over. Obviously it was the wrong move at this time, but I suspect that Urindanger is pretty close to getting the right prize here, and in that case it is probably worth going the distance with his hand.
NASCAR_1949 gets his money in bad, but gets a lucky river to win a $96K pot.
On the surface, the big story of this hand is the lucky river that NASCAR_1949 got to suck out on Vega_Lion in this $96K pot. And obviously, for the latter, it is probably all he remembers when he looks back at this pot. I, on the other hand, find that this hand is perfect for introducing ginette22, who also happened to bring up the rear of the leader board of the period. And judging by the way he played this hand, it should come as no surprise that he wound up where he did. First limping and then cold calling a 3 bet is hardly the way to make money in this game. It is just over a month since he showed up at the tables for the first time, and in that time he has dropped more than $300K. It could be that the big game has found a new donator, so it will be interesting to see if the sharks will gather around when he appears at the tables again.
