The action has certainly picked up over the last few days, and yesterday it was Ziigmund’s turn to re-enter the fray. Taking on durrrr and harrington25 in the $500/$1000 PLO game, he managed to turn in a $266K win. It was also interesting to see that there were four other players with six-figure results, so there is no doubt that both the volume and size of the games are on the rise.
Ziigmund flops top set and fades durrrr’s big draw twice to win $107K.
Unfortunately for the spectators, the match between Ziigmund and durrrr only lasted 64 hands. It did contain some fireworks, though, and this hand, which was the only one exceeding $100K, is a good example of that. The play itself needs little in the way of comments since we have seen the Big Draw vs Made Hand play out a thousand times before, but it was the main contributing factor in Ziigmund’s $88K win in this match. He was almost exactly a 2-1 favorite when the money went in here, so you could say that durrrr was a bit unlucky not to win at least a part of the pot.
Ziigmund’s trips holds up twice against harrington25’s flush draw and overpairs. $80K pot.
harrington25 and Ziifmund played 224 hands in the cap game, and the latter came out a $226K winner in that duel. And though I in general feel that cap games which includes the Run it twice feature is the antichrist of poker, I will make an exception and publish the above hand. It would actually have been very interesting to see this hand being played uncapped. I suspect the stacks would have had to be very deep for the players not to be all in on this flop. As it was, it really was a no brainer for both players, and again Ziigmund was a 2-1 favorite and managed to scoop both halves of the pot.
