After durrrr finished the short but highly successful session against Patric Antonius yesterday, he proceeded to grind out over 5500 hands and getting a handsome $416K to show for his effort. He did all of the damage in 2000 hands of $100/$200 PLO, and it was URnotINdanger2 and Ziigmund who took most of the losses with $248K and $176K respectively.
Durrrr flops a flush to win a $172K pot
I guess this pot is a good example of how good durrrr has been running over the last day and a half. The five largest pots of the day went his way, and this was the largest one of these. As you can see, almost all of the money went in before the flop, so it was basically a coinflip from that moment on (53/47 in URnotINdanger2 favor).
Some of you might think that durrrr’s 5-bet is a bit much in this spot, but he has a good hand and the bet takes away the positional disadvantage that he is at. His opponent is unlikely to shove without aces, against which he is only a very marginal underdog. And if URnotINdanger2 just calls durrrr’s 5-bet, durrrr will have a decent sized bet to put in on the flop that could take the pot down for him. This time, obviously, durrrr was up against the mentioned aces, and it is interesting to see that he saved the last $6500 dollars until the flop came down. Those last few chips would of course go in given the tiniest of excuses, but it costs nothing to save them in case the flop comes down A22 or something similar.
Antonius flops the nut straight, but durrrrs draws comes through twice to win him a $151K pot,
Another coinflip hand that went durrrr’s way, and though it wasn’t part of the durrrr challenge, I am sure Antonius felt bummed about not winning at least one part of the run it twice pot, particularly since he flopped the nuts. When the money went in, durrrr was a 51/49 favorite which makes the odds 3-1 against him winning both halves of this pot. But, as we have already concluded, the card gods has favored durrrr over the last 48 hours, so not only did his hand hold up, he improved to a full house and a flush over the two runs.
