Not a lot of action on Monday, but there was dome interesting $200/$400 PLO games (both capped and uncapped) going on at times with quite a few well known players taking part. And as the header indicates, it was Luukie21 who had the best of it, winning $155K. He gave some of it back in the $50/$100 game, though, but he was still left with enough to pocket the best result of the day.
URnotINdanger2’s top pair is enough to win a $77K pot against Ziigmund.
As we have mentioned in previous reports, Ziigmund does not seem to be on his best form these days, and I think this pot reflects this. I cannot understand his play on the flop here. After the betting before the flop, the chances of him having the best hand are fairly small, but if he still wants to go with his hand at least he should lead out with a bet on the flop to give his opponent a chance to fold. Now he puts himself in a situation where he has no fold equity and not enough pot odds to put his money in. His equity in this spot is 28% which is probably about as high as he can expect against URnotINdanger2’s range, and he needs 36% to make his play correct. Obviously it is not easy to calculate this on the fly, but I am sure that Ziigmund knows this by heart anyway.
Luukie21 flops the nut straight and fades the draws of three opponents to win a $64K pot.
Ziigmund turns a set and wins a $64K pot.
Benefield flops top set against Hansen’s bottom set to win a $78K pot.
