Coming off a “modest” loss in his highly anticipated match with Daniel Negreanu; we knew it would only be a matter of time before Viktor “Isildur1” Blom would reemerge to the tables to take on another one of poker’s elite. Ilari “Ilari FIN” Sahamies aka “Ziigmund” stepped up to the plate taking on Blom in three PLO (25/50) matches.
Isildur1 struck early and fast and within no time both player’s stack sizes were equivalent to nearly 5 buy-ins each at all three tables making it only a matter of time for some big pots to occur. As expected these players did not let us down:
Isildur1 flops trips, turns a full house and gets Ilari to pay him off on the river in a $49,271 pot.
After this hand, in “Ziigmund” fashion, the pots were getting bigger and play was getting faster, but that seems to suit Isildur1 better than most.
In a 6-bet pot, Isildur1 flopped top set and couldn’t click call quicker as Ilari moved all in in a $47,642 pot..
When the dust settled, Blom bested Ilari to the tune of $106,882 in 745 hands continuing Ziigmund’s downswing as of late and giving Viktor more ammunition to hit the tables.
