Plenty of PLO at PokerStars - Skjervøy is the Big Winner Once More

Ilari is back at the tables

The last two days has seen plenty of PLO action over at PokerStars, and once again Andreas “Skjervøy” Torbergsen has ended up on top of the leaderboard for both days.

Over the two days Skjervøy ended up nearly $300k in profit, spreading his winnings across the ring games and heads up matches alike playing at stakes from $50/$100 to $100/$200.

One of his victims in the heads up matches was the ever present Isildur1 in a relatively short session. The biggest loser on Tueday however was an old favourite Ilari "Ziigmund/Ilari FIN" Sahamies who dropped close to $80k in the ring games.

Isildur1 has had a rough time of it lately losing some big matches or having big leads wiped out towards the end of a session – his matches yesterday looked to be going to same way.

He started off the day with a quick hour session against Skjervøy where he promptly dropped $165k. at $50/$100. After licking his wounds he returned five or so hours later and embarked on a marathon seven hour session, barely coming up for air. Initially he resumed his match with Torbergsen and he seemed to have turned the tide as he quickly took a huge lead in the session, all but wiping out his losses. It all went wrong for Isildur1 however when they broke tables and decided to play 250bb’s deep on new tables rather than opening them on 100bb’s. Within a very short space of time Skjervøy had managed to take the majority of his losses back – running very hot on those deeper stacked tables.

Such was his frustration that Isildur, while still four tabling Torbergsen, opened up a few tables against his conqueror from earlier in the week, Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky. Isildur also let Skjervøy know his thoughts in the chat-box, telling him he was “the biggest luckbox ever” and that “you play terrible”. A case of sour grapes I think Viktor!

By this time Blom was practically begging Sauce to open at least six tables rather than the four he would agree to. The situation was looking bad for Isildur as he quickly lost several buy-ins against Sauce. It looked for the world as if he would tilt away his remaining bankroll in record time but for once however there was a happy ending for the fearless Swede, as he managed to turn things around and eventually ended the session a $181k winner.

Add to that the $50k or so he managed to recoup against Skjervøy and Isildur1 actually ended the day a near $80k winner from his 36 sessions and over 4,000 hands of play, more than wiping out his $68k losses from the previous day.

It will be interesting to see whether this action will continue and what may happen if Isildur1 goes on one of his famous rushes. If his roll increased enough we could well see some interesting games at higher stakes as surely the likes of Sauce, Skjervøy, PepperoniF and others would follow him, along with those returning from Vegas after a long summer of WSOP action.
