According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Anthony Carleo, known as the “Bellagio Bandit”, was sentenced on Tuesday to 3 to 11 years in prison for stealing ~$1.5 million in gambling chips from the Bellagio in December.
In December, Carleo was wearing a white full-face motorcycle helmet and a leather jacket when he entered the Bellagio casino. He approached a nearby craps table with a gun and stole chips worth of $1,5M and escaped eventually on a motorcycle.
Carleo, 30, pleaded guilty in June to armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon as part of a deal with prosecutors, which also saw eight other felony charges dropped.
Carleo, who is the son of a Las Vegas Municipal Court judge, got caught in early February at the Bellagio after allegedly trying to sell some of the stolen cranberry $25,000 denomination chips to an undercover detective.
