A $200k loss for Blom, but it could have been much worse
A bad day at the office for Ronny "1-ronnyr3" Kaiser
After a very shaky start to his highstakes career at PokerStars Ilari "Ilari FIN" Sahamies has really been motoring in August and has won nearly $1.6 million in the past three weeks, all from PLO and a great deal from one Viktor "Isildur1" Blom. The win could not have come at a better time from the Finnish highstakes legend who up until the beginning of this month was a combined $1.4 million down across both his Full Tilt (-$623k) and PokerStars ($-814k) accounts for 2011.
As reported Sahamies day started extremely well with a $480k win over Blom and he continued his good form at the $100/$200 PLO tables with a good score in the afternoon ring games before resuming his battle with Blom later in the evening, although this time Blom fared much better, taking six figures from his opponent. In total Ilarin FIN walked away with a near $650k profit for the day. At one point during the day Sahamies 48 hour winnings peaked at over $1.1 million!
While there were no other six figure winners yesterday, there certainly plenty of six figure losers as Isildur1 managed to offset a good percentage of his losses to Sahamies to players such as 1-ronnyr3, RealAndyBeal and gavz101. In fact 1-ronnyr3 topped the list of losers with a $270k deficit, followed by Blom (-$208k), Niki "RealAndyBeal" Jedlicka (-$175k) and Zypherin (-$164k) making up the rest of the six figure losers. Amazingly, after suffering such heavy losses to Ilari over the past couple of days, Blom actually managed to show a total six figure profit over the past 48 hours.
Years Biggest PLO Pot
Yesterday also saw the biggest PLO pot of the year at PokerStars with a typically crazy play from Isildur1 backfiring stupendously
