Amit approaches the summit of this years PokerStars leaderboard
A bad week for Davin Georgi so far
After a tremendous start to September Ilari "Ilari FIN" Sahamies found himself nearly $1.2 million to the good over at PokerStars after just 13 days but this last week has looked ominous for the PLO highstakes regular as he dropped nearly $340k over the next few days - surely Sahamies wouldn't combust as he did last month when he lost a cool million bucks in the last few days of the month? It would seem not as Ilari put in an excellent night/morning's work on Thursday, winning around a quarter of a million dollars in just a few hours at the $100/$200 PLO tables and for the past three days is up just under $290k.
One of Sahamies biggest victims in these sessions was Rui "PepperoniF" Cao, fresh off a leaderboard topping $143k win from Wednesday. As the clock ticked into Thursday Cao promptly lost a hefty $319k, both in heads up play against Sahamies and also in the short handed ring games - putting his losses over the past 3 days at just under $200k. This must irk Cao who famously does not get on too well with Sahamies if their war or words over the virtual tables is to be believed.
Ilari FIN's biggest hands of the session
Classic Aces vs Kings set up vs Toweliestar - $78k pot
Ilari boats up and gets paid off vs Brian "$tinger 88" Hastings - $73k pot
Biggest pot vs PepperoniF - Sahamies overpair holds up as his flush draw is dominated - $64k pot
It's also been a bad week so far for one of last weeks biggest winners mTw-DaviN who has been brutalised at the $50/$100 PLO tables these past few days by the likes of Sami "LrsLzk" Kelopuro, Niki "RealAndyBeal" Jedlicka and !P0krparty? dropping nearly $300k in the process.
Also worthy of note this week is the continuing good form of Rafi "refaelamit" Amit, the Israeli highstakes pro who now sits just $1000 below Skjervøy on the PokerStars overall 2011 highstakes leaderboard with $1.518 million in profit. Amit is regarded as one of the best live PLO players around and currently his online prowess is looking every bit as impressive.
