The 2012 Aussie Millions Poker Championship continued today with Day 1b of the Main Event. The second of three starting flights attracted 187 players, and combined with Day 1a’s 153 entries, the total field for two days is 340.
Last year the Aussie Millions Main Event saw a total of 721 entries, and while day 1c tomorrow is expected to be the biggest of the three starting days, the total number of players is expected to be lower this year.
The day 1a leader was a local player Brett Watson with 257,400 chips, while James Dempsey emerged as the day 1b chip leader with 189,000.
Some notable names who made it through to day 2 are Tom “durrrr” Dwan (107,400), Tyron Krost (56,400), Maria Ho (49,600), JP Kelly (44,100), Annette Obrestad (28,300) and Sebastian Ruthenberg (22,800).
Players like Barry Greenstein, Randy Dorfman, Rupert Elder, Patrik Antonius and McLean Karr are on the other hand, all out of the tournament.
