Groupe Bernard Tapie lawyer Behn Dayanim informed a number of major poker media sites yesterday, that outstanding debts to Full Tilt Poker, from the likes of Phil Ivey and Mike Matusow, might create a "serious obstacle" to any deal going through if they remain unpaid.
According to Card Player’s source, Phil Ivey and Erick Lindgren both owe $4 million to the site, while David Benyamine and Layne Flack owe $2 million apiece. Mike Matusow and Barry Greenstein owe less.
The total amount that different players owe Full Tilt Poker is believed to be about $18 million.
So far, only Barry Greenstein has commented his debt, and according to Greenstein, he borrowed $400,000 from Full Tilt "a few years ago" in order to participate in the high stakes games on the site.
