Ilari misses another huge draw and sees the pot shipped to Blom
It seems that when Viktor "Isildur1" shows up for a game of Poker he is in it for the long haul. Once again we have witnessed his undoubted stamina as he has been an almost ever present figure at the PokerStars high stakes tables for the past three days. In fact as I write this he is once again in action playing Isaac Haxton heads up at the NL tables but in the interest of a timely update we will concentrate on his furious activity up until the early hours of this morning when he decided to take a small number of hours off!
We could refer to the daily results which witnessed a $179k win for Blom but so much happened in the hour or two post midnight server time that it would be irrelevant to talk of that win. After midnight his fortunes swung dramatically both ways as he reached a peak of nearly $400k profit only to plummet to around -$70k in the space of a few hundred hands, only to make a blistering comeback in the last few hundred hands of his session, again reaching $400k profit before ending up just shy of $350k to the good.
Isildur had actually taken one of his longer hiatus's between sessions before getting back on the high stakes grind yesterday evening where he once again ran very well against a clearly frustrated Ilari FIN taking a quarter of a million dollars from last years biggest winner at PokerStars in some very short but brutal sessions. It was during these sessions that Isildurs biggest hand of the day took place;
A frustrated Ilari FIN gambles on his straight draw and finds himself behind all the way as Blom rivers the nuts - $151k pot
You can understand Ilari's frustration when he finds his monster draws like this but can't convert this $100k pot
As you have heard however, not everything went Blom's way as he went through a very bad patch at around midnight server time in the $100/$200 ring games, losing several hundred thousand dollars. The games proved to be very profitable for Ville Wahlbeck who killed these sessions to end the days biggest winner, taking a fantastic $244k win for the day. Jeans89 also fared well versus Isildur1 here and bagged a $97k win for the day as a result - this hand certainly helped;
Isildur1 still has a few outs on the flop but is buried on the turn - $110k pot
One player who didn't fare so well against Blom at this time was Ronny "1-ronnyr3" who lost about $100k to the Swede on his way to becoming yesterdays second biggest loser, dropping $197k on the day.
After suffering losses in the ring games it looked like Blom might end up losing a stack, especially when he faced off against his recent nemesis Berndsen12 who had recently taken Isildur for close to $300k. This time however the result was very different as Blom tore through the Dutch pro - taking a staggering $183k on one table in just 11 minutes of play - on his way to recouping all his losses and finally stopped play in the early hours a $347k winner for his 11 hour session.
The biggest hand of their encounter is shown below;
Berndsen12 flops middle set and a great draw but Isildur1 also flops a multi way draw and completes on the turn in this $125k pot
As I complete this write up it would appear that Blom ended up around a $90k loser in his later session today which may or may not detract from tomorrows results because if there's one thing we can be sure of it is that we can NEVER be sure what's going to happen when Isildur1 has $$ in his PokerStars account!
