PartyPoker Premier League V Champion Crowned

Scott Seiver wins.

Scott “mastrblastr” Seiver emerged victorious in the PartyPoker Premier League V (buy-in $125.000) on Tuesday, and earned USD $500,000 and a ticket to the $25,000 World Poker Tour Championship next month for his victory.

Hosted at Montesino Casino in Vienna, Austria, the event featured a USD $1.4 million prize pool and 16 of some of the world’s best-known poker players.

In the Heads-Up play Seiver outlasted Daniel “jungleman12” Cates, after he spiked a king on the river with his K-Q offsuit against Cates’ pair of sevens.

According to HendonMob.com, Seiver has now earned almost USD $5 million from live-tournaments during his career, including a WPT-title and a WSOP gold bracelet.

How much was the buy-in? Surely not $125,000.

Pretty sure it was 125k, but the payout structure seems awfull to me. I think paying the top 3 would have been better and pay out a lot more, much like a lot of the super high roller tourneys do.
