Chris "Genius28" Lee has kind of kept himself under the radar for what seems to be an eternity, but he has been grinding it out at the PLO tables on PokerStars since August last year and yesterday's win of $155k puts him into an over $500k profit for the past couple of months. He played mostly $50/$100 PLO although we did witness some crazy action at the $100/$200 and $200/$400 tables including a $200k+ pot (something we haven't seen for a fairly long time).
Genius28 played in the early hours of the morning in a session which featured Zypherin at the $50/$100 PLO deep ante tables. It was not, however, Zypherin who lost a lot of money (as he lost less than $10k yesterday), but Genius28 was able to win against just about anybody on the table, most of whom were high stakes regulars. He won over $100k between two tables in less than five hours. Other winners at the $50/$100 tables during the day were Gabriel "verve.oasis" Goffi who won $77k to end as the day's second biggest winner. On the receiving end of these wins were YoussefAhmed (-$92k) who ended the day as the biggest loser and !P0krparty¡ who grinded over 2,000 hands but managed to lose $74k. He has lost over $360k in the past five days so who knows how long we will continue to see him on the tables.
There was some wild action at the $100/$200 and $200/$400 PLO tables involving high stakes Finnish pro Ilari "Ilari FIN" Sahamies (+$75k). He battled against other top high stakes PLO pros including Romanian player Phisherman36 (+$22k) whom he played heads-up for a short time at $100/$200. One of these two players was the winner in each of the nine biggest pots of the day. They played short-handed against tough opposition such as Brian "$tinger 88" Hastings (-$83k) who was in fact the second biggest loser of the day and Russian PLO pro Alexey "LuckyGump" Makarov (+$52k) who has been away from the tables recently. There was a heads-up match at $200/$400 between Ilari FIN and Terje "Terken89" Augdal in which Ilari emerged as a $64k winner. Nevertheless, Terken89 has had a great time at the tables over the last three months, winning $850k during the period.
Ilari FIN makes a strange bet on the river against Phisherman36 but the latter makes the call with his full house and wins this $209k pot.
Ilari FIN gets the money in holding the best hand but Phisherman36 hits a flush on the river to scoop the $143k pot.
There was some NLHE action at $50/$100 which was a heads-up match between two top players: Max "altiFC" Altergott and Phil "takechip" D'Auteuil in which the young German player won $47k across the four tables.
