The UK-based player longerpig played just 285 hands at the tables yesterday but managed to book a win of $45k to end the day as the biggest winner in what was a generally quiet day at the high stakes tables. There were no $50k+ winners or losers but there were multiple $25/$50 and $50/$100 PLO tables running throughout the day.
There was a lot of action throughout the day at the $50/$100 tables and it is here where longerpig made his money. There was another UK player who had a great day as well and that was the live cash-game legend (well within UK poker) Neil "N Channing" Channing. He won $45k, just $500 less than longerpig, but grinded over 2,000 hands at the tables which is surprising for a guy who is used to playing live games in London. Another winner who grinded it out at these stakes was cemarq (+$41k) who played over 1,200 hands mostly at $25/$50.
Eunjong Byun wins the biggest pot of the day in a $50/$100 HUNL match flopping two pair against Ben "Ben86" Tollerene in this $40k pot.
We did see some $100/$200 PLO action but it was at the normal tables where the players generally sat short-stacked and featured Viktor "Isildur1" Blom (-$9k). He hasn't been playing his normal lengthy sessions as we have been used to watching him play but hopefully he will do well tonight in the $21,000 HUNL SCOOP event which he has already registered for. The other players in these games were Terje "Terken89" Augdal (+$32k) and Fredrik "H@££INGGOL" Halling (+$26k). Gabriel "verve.oasis" Goffi didn't have a great day especially in these games and ended the day as the biggest loser with his $46k loss. Ignat "0Human0" Liviu was also close behind with a $46k loss as his day of grinding the $25/$50 and $50/$100 tables didn't fare so well. We also witnessed the return of RaiseOnce (rumoured to be Phil Ivey) who lost $40k before calling it a day.
