Day 16 of the Spring Championship of Online Poker was the final day of this year's SCOOP series. We saw the final day of Event 39 and Event 40, the latter being the Main Event and the winner of Event 30-H winning close to $800k; the winner was Nick "GripDsNutz" Grippo from Costa Rica. The winner of the medium Main Event, suarez_BG won $560k as no deal was agreed, and event the winner of Event 39-H, Tom "7tHEcROw7" Macdonald, won a staggering $298k.
Event 39-M, $215 NLHE [6-max, $500k Gtd]
Entrants: 5,227, Total prize pool: $1,045,400
1st place: skllzdatklls (Mexico) $159,425.30
2nd place: oncommand (Mexico) $114,994
3rd place: MiniiPop (Canada) $83,632
4th place: Chris "ImDaNuts" Oliver (Costa Rica) $52,949.51
5th place: SmokerGri (Russia) $31,362
6th place: BigMeech99 (Sweden) $16,726.40
oncommand and skllzdatklls were the two chip leaders respectively at the beginning of the final table as the 44 players remaining from yesterday were filtered down to the final six. ImDaNuts has a great tournament record but finished fourth here when he shoved holding J9 and got called by pocket tens which held up. skillzdatklls had a roughly 1.5-1 chip lead when the heads-up battle began and continued to increase the lead at the beginning until a little heater and a bluff by oncommand gave him the chip lead. On the final hand of the tournament, skllzdatklls went all-in on an 8 high flop holding top pair but his opponent snap-called holding pocket kings which gave him a SCOOP title and over $150k.
Event 39-H, $2,100 NLHE [6-max, $750k Gtd]
Entrants: 840, Total prize pool: $1,680,000
1st place: Tom "7tHEcROw7" Macdonald (United Kingdom) $298,200
2nd place: Mike "SirWatts" Watson (Canada) $220,920
3rd place: mindgamer (Austria) $168,000
4th place: Fiskin1 (United Kingdom) $117,600
5th place: RomeOpro (Ukraine) $84,000
6th place: Turko_man (Spain) $50,400
7tHEcROw7 entered the final table significantly low on chips in 5th place and with less than 5% of the chips on the table. He managed to double up early on with TT against 66 and then chip up again with JJ against TT. It seemed to be his day and he hung in there until it was three-handed. He may be unknown by many but is a highly respected player in the UK and he won the "big hand" of the tournament when there was a three-way pre-flop all-in and his JJ held up against mindgamer's TT and SirWatts AQss (although there was a sweat as SirWatts flopped a flush draw). 7tHEcROw7 was on the right end of another cooler in the final hand as he held JJ against on a 10 high flop as his opponent held top pair. The over-pair held up and he won just under $300k and his first SCOOP title.
Event 40-M, $1,050 NLHE [Main Event, $1.5m Gtd]
Entrants: 3,567, Total prize pool: $3,567,000

2nd place: ministerborg (Denmark) - $417,339
3rd place: hunwei (Australia) - $296,061

6th place: scrooch025 (Belgium) - $115,927.50
7th place: Donny "dknight10" Knight (Costa Rica) - $80,257.50
8th place: Korn2005 (Canada)- $44,587.50
9th place: IRLMedic (Ireland) - $28,536
ministerborg and hunwei held significant chip leads heading into the final table and both players made it into the final three. A deal was suggested at this point but ministerborg was not interested at all and the action continued with hunwei losing a classic race holding QQ against ministerborg's AK. ministerborg now held a 3-1 chip lead against his opponent when the heads-up action started but suarez_BG has an insane rush winning all the big pots, and on the final hand of play, his pocket fives held up against his opponent's AQ which earned him $560k and a SCOOP title.

The players agreed to a three-way chop each receiving $718,675, and having a further $80k and the title to play for. This was a great final table for all three of them especially sp00led who was the short-stacked by a significant margin heading into the final table but managed to double up at the right times to make it to the final three. GripsDsNutz held 66 in the final hand of play against his opponent's A3 and the pocket sixes held up to give him the extra $80, SCOOP title and Movado watch.
