Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky had yet another great day at the high stakes tables ending the day as the biggest winner by a considerable margin with his $288k win. The young American pro (who is currently living in Canada) played 2,184 hands yesterday in an action-filled day at the high stakes PLO tables. Yesterday's result takes him to a profit of over $2.2 million for the year which is extremely impressive considering he is still a student and thus is not seen at the tables as much as other players.
The main action at the high stakes tables yesterday was at $50/$100 PLO which was mostly played at the deep ante tables between notable regulars with the majority playing in the ring games although we did see a few heads-up tables running at the same time. Sauce123 did extremely well in both formats and seemed to dominate his opponents. Another big winner at these stakes was glosik (+$102k) who booked a six figure win and hopefully it will be the start of an upswing as he has been the biggest loser on two days this week. He played a couple of tables of heads-up against Taiwan-based player terryhsu (-$20k) whom he has been battling quite regularly recently and fared well against him this time. Other winners were David "Deldar182" Eldar who once again had a good day winning $59k (closing in on the million dollar profit mark for the year) UK pro Rory "Mafews" Matthews (+$45k). The latter seems to be more active on the PokerStars tables in the past month or so probably because he can no longer find good action on the Euro sites where he did extremely well prior to playing on PokerStars. Sauce123 actually lost the biggest pot of the day:
EireAbu gets it in with a speculative hand (which is actually the favorite to win) in this three-way pre-flop all-in to scoop the $79k pot.
We had not seen Romania-based player Phisherman36 for the past couple of days but his return to the tables yesterday did not end well at all as he was the biggest loser of the day. He lost $148k playing in the $50/$100 PLO ring games although it seemed like he wanted to play heads-up against Macau-based player patpatman who politely declined the offer saying that heads-up was too boring for him. 5tgb6yhn7 is a new player at the high stakes tables whose account is registered in Monaco and although he played just 168 hands yesterday, he lost $141k. There was one other six figure loser and that was Russian PLO specialist Alexey "LuckyGump" Makarov who lost $135k.
There was some good NLHE action at the $50/$100 tables as well with a couple of heads-up matches. One was between two very well known high stakes players: altiFC (+$43k) and Phil "takechip" D'Auteuil (-$90k). The two have played before and altiFC has been doing well against takechip recently. The other match was between Eunjong Byun (+$38k) and TheMatadorCC (-$53k) and it was the former player who did well in this match.
Day's biggest winners: Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky (+$288k), glosik (+$102k)
