Alex "Kanu7" Millar (+$209k) continued his heads-up encounter against Macau-based player patpatman whom he battled yesterday at the $200/$400 deep NLHE tables. The match lasted for 1,125 hands during which time, Kanu7 won $217k from his opponent, before the latter declared that he had no cash left. Kanu7 is now up over $750k this year (currently second biggest NLHE winner). There were a couple of six figure pots as well during the match.
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is in full swing now and with most high stakes pros there for the summer (thus unable to play online), the action at the PLO tables has quietened down recently. We have not seen the $100/$200 and $200/$400 action that we did for the past couple of months but yesterday we witnessed a lot of action at the $50/$100 PLO tables. The biggest winner in these games was UK-based player longerpig who played a mammoth 2,650 hands and won $85k to end as the second biggest winner of the day. He won the majority of his winnings from the still unidentified Ireland-based player EireAbu (-$67k). They played together both heads-up and in the six-max games with EireAbu faring well in neither.
There was some $50/$100 NLHE action which was both heads-up and short-handed. Swedish player wilhasha played both formats but generally heads-up and he won an overall $72k for the day. On the receiving end of this were Katya_18 who lost $57k and FlyingSmile (-$32k).
The standout match of the day was at the $200/$400 heads-up NLHE tables between Kanu7 and patpatman. Kanu7 destroyed patpatman although it was the Macau-based player who started the match off well before it all turned around for him. He was the biggest loser of the day (-$191k) and at the end of the match he said that he had "no money" which was quite evident as he normally auto-reloads to 100BBs or 250BBs but could not afford to reload to his original starting stack yesterday. He seems to play in the big cash games in Macau so it is very unlikely that he is actually broke but has probably just run out of money on his PokerStars account so we hope he can make a deposit soon to carry on watching the action like we did yesterday.
Kanu7 hits quads on the river against patpatman who pays him off with a full house in this $115k pot.
Kanu7 makes a bluff-raise on the flop but gets very lucky hitting runner runner to make a bigger full house than patpatman to scoop the $152k pot.
Day's biggest winners: Alex "Kanu7" Millar (+$209k), longerpig (+$85k), wilhasha (+$72k)
Day's biggest losers: patpatman (-$191k), EireAbu (-$67k), Katya_18 (-$57k)
