Online poker room iGame.com have unveiled their latest poker promotion with none other than Poker Superstar Patrik Antonius.
In what is undoubtedly an enormous coup for the Malta based gaming company, Antonius, one of the biggest names in poker worldwide has agreed to a short term deal with iGame to promote the new online gaming brand and its new Fast Poker product.
iGame will be holding a €330 entry MTT on July 8th from which the winner will get the opportunity to play Patrik over two live streamed heads up matches with a chance to win €20,000 if they defeat the Finnish poker legend. As well as buying directly into the tournament iGame will be awarding 36 seats in freerolls and facebook promotions.
Former Team Full Tilt member Patrik Antonius, who recently said of the beleagured FTP "I don't have a future with them as a representative" is the first former member of Team FT to take up with another online site. The move will see a return from Antonius to the European poker networks, as he formerly represented Martin's Poker in his pre Full Tilt Days.
Antonius is seen by many as the ultimate poker icon with his male model looks and physique, ice cold temperament and tremendous ability and success. He is one of the few professional players as revered in live games as he is online and made the transistion from online phenom to mixed game master seamlessly. Despite admitting he isn't really a fan of big live tournaments (shown by his distinct lack of interest in general at the WSOP each year) Antonius still has over $5.3 million in live tournament winnings. His total online winnings are unknown as he has played across many sites, both European and American over the past decade although his tracked winnings at high stakes on HSDB since 2007 (for usernames we are aware of, and games we tracked) on Full Tilt Poker alone were around $15 million - making him the second most successful player we have tracked behind Phil Ivey. Adept at all games, Antonius is particularly skilled in Pot Limit Omaha and heads up Limit Hold'Em he is generally considered one of the best PLO players in the world.
It is unknown if Antonius will continue to represent iGame.com after the July 8 challenge.
There is more than one reason to take a chance with iGame however as they have recently added Relax Gaming's "Fast Poker" to their roster of offered games. Similar in concept to Full Tilt's "Rush" and PokerStars "Zoom" poker the format allows players to join a "pool" of ther players, reseating them at a new table as soon as they fold their hand. Players get more action and more hands per hour, especially as if they don't like their hole cards they can choose to "fast fold" prior to the action reaching them.
iGame also organize the poker live tournament series iGame Open staged in some of Europe's top casinos and offer plenty of other online gaming experiences including bingo, sportsbetting and a casino.
