Tennis icon and Olympic gold medalist Rafael Nadal has signed on as the newest PokerStars ambassador.
PokerStars confirmed today the signing of one of the best professional tennis players in recent years, Rafael Nadal, as the site's newest Team SportStars member.
"It's no secret that I love to compete and try my very best in everything, whether that's tennis, golf or video games. When I discovered the game of poker, I chose to join PokerStars because they understand what it takes to be the best and associate themselves with the qualities of champions. I'm very happy to be working with them.", Nadal told to PokerStars Blog about his new deal.
The 26-year-old is one of the most successful athletes of all time with 17 ATP Masters titles, 11 Grand Slam victories, 4 Davis Cup trophies and an olympic gold medal.
According to PokerStars Blog, Nadal will play poker in spare moments this summer while he concentrates on some big tennis action, beginning with Wimbledon from this coming Monday. However, after the summer, he will be representing PokerStars in online tournaments, advertising campaigns and charity events.
