World Series of Poker (WSOP) Media Director Nolan Dalla was able to have a first sit down interview with Phil Ivey in three years. The interview was conducted while the Big One for One Drop was still ongoing.
The two met in Ivey’s private trailer in the parking lot at the Rio. "It's the one parked behind the black Rolls Royce," said Ivey in a text message setting up the meet.
Phil Ivey had a great WSOP this year, and he came close several times winning his 9th WSOP gold bracelet. All in all, he made five final table appearances, and he is currently still in the WSOP Main Event after finishing with a short stack of 11,525 on Day 1C
“It’s all about winning. I don’t get any satisfaction from second place at all.”, Ivey answered when he was asked about his success in this year's WSOP.
Ivey also expressed how much he likes the World Series of Poker:
"We all change. As you get older, you mature, things change in your life, and you change as a person, but I still love to play poker. I mean I wish this World Series of Poker was going every day, 365 days a year, I’d play every day. I love it. I’m happy to be a part of it."
