PartyPoker Removes High Stakes Tables

Party Poker has made a surprising move this week, eliminating all high-stakes games from the site. Without any warning the site eliminated all stakes above $5/$10 No Limit and $30/$60 Limit games.

According to the company, the change was made to improve the “poker ecology” of the site and was in the best interests of players playing on Party Poker. Party Poker also added, that they believed the move will improve the action at the lower stakes.

Party Poker's cash game traffic is down 50% compared to last year, and many believe the reason for that is the PokerStars' wildly popular Zoom Poker, which was introduced earlier this year.

However, Party Poker is trying to keep up with the competition, and  is expected to launch their own fast-fold poker variant by the end of the year.
