Since the recent rise and fall of Viktor "Isildur1" Blom the $200/$400 PLO games have been running far less frequently so it was good to see some nosebleed action with some of our highstakes favourites at the tables yesterday. The big winners from the sessions were Jens "Jeans89" Kyllönen and Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky who won $193.7k and $142.2k respectively during the course of yesterdays play.
Between them Jeans89 & Sauce123 played less than 400 hands at the $200/$400 PLO tables yet they made practically all their days winning from the sessions. In fact Sauce made every cent of his $142.2k win from just 172 hands at $200/$400 and Jeans89 made $190.5k in 201 hands at $200/$400 and only $3k in the 800 hands he played at $50/$100!
Both players played at different times, with Jeans playing in some late morning sessions and Sauce playing later in the afternoon. Both had one thing in common however, they both benfitted from Ilari FIN's presence at the table, with Sauce123 in particular playing Ilari heads up in some big pots. Ilari has done well recently but slipped up a little yesterday and proved the days least fortunate playing, dropping $341k at the tables, mostly at $200/$400 PLO and a little at the FLO8 tables.
Between them Sauce & Jeans also took down the five biggest pots of the day, with Sauce winning four, including the top three. Here are his biggest two and Jeans biggest pot;
Sauce123 hits the high end of the straight to Ilari FIN's bottom end - $177k pot
An unfortunate river for Ilari whose hand improves enough for him to commit his stack as he forfeits this $161k pot
Action flop in this three way all in. The case 10 arrives on the turn to hand Jeans89 this $126k pot
Yesterdays win moves Sauce123 ever closer to the top spot on the current PokerStars 2012 high stakes leaderboard with over $2.5m in winnings. With EireAbu's recent slump he is now only $150k from EireAbu's total winnings for the year. Jeans89 is also moving back up the rankings, having won over half a million dollars over the summer so far.
Six figure winners were not just confined to the $200/$400 tables however as 101sTheYear made $129k playing in the $25/$50 and $50/$100 PLO ring games, putting in an impressive 2710 hands over seven hours of play. We also saw VietRussian take down $105.8k, again playing $25/$50 and $50/$100 PLO, again mainly in the $50/$100 games over a similar number of hands. Skjervøy's mini comeback also continues as he took another $80k yesterday to bring his weekly winnings to over $300k.
