Over the past 24 hours we have witnessed new kid on the block FaKeOrReaL take on mid stakes PLO king & recently turned high stakes PLO winner Odd_Oddsen in a huge heads up battle, a battle which has recently started up once again after a 6.5 hour hiatus. Both players have played over 12,000 hands since this time yesterday in some multi-tabling mayhem in which Oddsen is currently crushing his opponent.
Although Oddsen is showing a $158k win on the Saturday leaderboard his winnings for the past day or so far exceed that total as the heads up marathon lasted well past midnight server time. By the time the players took their few hours break Odd_Oddsen had taken $374k from his opponent and even then he was running around $250k below EV.
Their is currently a lot of speculation as to the identity of FaKeOrReaL who has exploded onto the highstakes scene over the past few days, winning and losing big sums while taking on allcomers over a huge amount of tables. Two names that are cropping up time and again are XBLINK/XWINK and !P0krparty¡ and it's easy to see why. Both players appeared on the high stakes scene after huge rushes at the lower stakes and proceeded to make big wins and spectacular losses over the space of a few days whilst taking on any and everyone. In particular the playing style and huge multitabling capacity are very reminiscent of !P0krparty¡'s occasional forays into the high stakes arena.
During the heads up match FaKeOrReaL was constantly asking his opponent to add more tables and at one point tried to insist on 24 tables of heads up play. A request which Oddsen quite reasonably turned down. FaKeOrReal was also asking Oddsen to flip for stacks - the guy is clearly an action junkie. It seems strange if it is !P0krparty¡ that he felt the need to play on a different account as he was not a player who was denied action. However, until more evidence comes to light of the FaKeOrReaL's true identity we shall leave the speculation to the forums.
The pair have played over a thousand hands since they took their sleep break and in that time FaKeOrReaL has made a small comeback, relieving his rampant opponent of $50k or so.
Here are the pairs biggest hands from the last days play;
Set over set cooler for FaKeOrReaL in this $88.5k pot
FaKeOrReaL's flopped top two outlast Oddsen's overpair and flush draw in this $88.3k pot
In other news the dasy biggest official loser yesterday (since a lot of FaKeOrReaL's losses ill be included in tomorrow's results) was Isildur1 whose comeback took a turn for the worse and he lost another $213k to add to the $33k loss from Friday. Blom is now down close to $2.3 million this year on PokerStars - however with three and a half months left in 2012 who knows what his year end score will be as he is one of the few players around capable of turning that deficit into a profit in a short space of time (either that or go totally broke trying!).
The days official biggest winner was Seb86 who won $159k at the 2-7 TD tables, taking chunks from YoungGuyy, juuuiice and Phil "MrSweets28" Galfond. Seb86 is now up over $630k in the Draw games this year, the second biggest winner there behind Alex "BiatchPeople" Luneau.
Other six figure winners yesterday were Alex "Kanu7" Millar who won $134.5k, mostly from patpatman and the $200/$400 NLHE tables and 1Il|1Il|1il| who took $133.8k in the $50/$100 and $100/$200 PLO ring games, and heads up against mtvdeuem.
It was from the nosebleed NLHE heads up match between Kanu7 and patpatman that the biggest pot of the day was played out;
Kanu7 flops trips and manages to get patpatman to stack off with JJ in this $101.5k hand
Overall there was only one 6-figure pot played yesterday, but with the WCOOP in full steam (including the high roller event), chances are we'll see more in the coming days.
