After a brilliant start to the year the Macua based player "patpatman" has been on an epic downswing, going from seven figure winner to seven figure loser in a matter of months. Yesterday however he managed to virtually halve his years losses with a magnificent display at the $200/$400 PLO tables as he ended the day a $514k winner.
The stars were out in force as the big games started up again and included the likes of Ilari FIN, broksi, Ben86, Odd_Oddsen, FaKeOrReaL, Jeans89 and 1Il|1Il|1il|. The $200/$400 PLO games ran for around 7 hours with patpatman doing most of his damage quite early on in the sessions as he booked $158k and $320k wins at tables Kiangsu III and Massinga II, sessions which began around an hour after the big games started. These deep sessions also produced patpatman's two biggest pots of the day, including the days biggest pot;
Ilari FIN ships on the turn only to discover that he is drawing dead to patpatman's flopped set of Queens - $219k pot
patpatman's wrap completes to defeat broksi's flopped top two in this $137.5k pot
Aside from patpatman's $219k pot there were two other pots over $150k;
Ilari FIN manages to avoid the flush draw to take this $167k pot with his flopped pair of Queens
Ilari FIN turns the nuts only to be outdrawn by Jeans89's higher straight on the river in this $150k pot
The major donator at these games was Gus "broksi" Hansen who suffered a $417k loss yesterday. It was a long day for Hansen who had already had to do some repair work during a 7 hour heads up marathon at the FLO8 tables. At one point he was close to $200k down here to Chung ho before making an excellent recovery to end the session $184 in profit. Alas this wasn't to be the theme of broksi's day as he ended up a $250 loser at the 2-7 Triple Draw tables (including a $97k loss logged at midnight server time and hence not logged in yesterdays results) and a further c.$270k in the $200/$400 PLO games.
The only other six figure winner yesterday came from Russian banker Vladimir "GVOZDIKA55" Shchemelev whose $111k win was split pretty much evenly between the 2-7 TD and Omaha Hi Lo tables. Jeans89 was close to breaking the $100k mark, bagging a $96.9k win as he closes in on $2 million profit for the year at PokerStars with Odd_Oddsen continuing his rich vein of form with an $88.9k win (in fact Oddsen took around another $100k after midnight server time and is in fact up close to $200k over the past 24 hours).
At the wrong end of the table it was a step back for RaiseOnce who dropped $135.8k and also for FaKeOrReal who continued his recent downsing with a $133.8k loss.
