Results from event 3 at the World Series Of Poker Europe
These days it sometimes seems like everybody you speak to in poker seems to fancy that they have an edge as soon as you put four cards in front of them, so it was perhaps a little surprising that only 97 players registered for event 3 of the world series of poker Europe - € 5,000 pot limit Omaha. That may have had something to do with the scheduling in Cannes, but all the same it was a relatively poor attendance in comparison to event 2 which drew in 626 players.
Of just twelve players who got paid ten had previous form for cashing in world series Omaha events, two of whom were looking to add to previously won PLO bracelets. Neither of those two (Vanessa Selbst and Jason Mercier) were able to make a serious run at picking up another title on this occasion though, busting in 12th and 9th places.
Fresh from a min cash in event 2, France’s Roger Hairabedian picked his spots well as the final table drew to a conclusion, eliminating three opponents in a row to take down event 3, notching up €142,590 as he did so.

Event 4 (€3,000 NLHE shootout) is soon to draw to a conclusion and whilst Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth have had only minor dalliances with the prize money, there has been plenty more success for others who have made the trip across the Atlantic. Further details will be published here once the tournament has played down to a winner.
