RaiseOnce (still strongly suspected to be the PokerStars moniker of Phil Ivey) has been playing a lot of limit games over the past few months, opting to make only relatively fleeting appearances in the bet big games he has (if it is indeed Ivey) won so many millions from online in previous years. His results thus far in 2012 have been mixed to say the least and more often than not he has been on the losing end of things. However, a $372k win yesterday puts him back in business and from more than a $700k deficit just a few weeks ago RaiseOnce is now just $157k from break even - and at the stakes he plays this could be wiped out in less than a day if things go his way.
The day didn't start out too well for RaiseOnce however as he took a $48k loss to Trueteller in a short 53 hand encounter at the $200/$400 NLHE tables before he changes his plan of attack and concentrated on the 2-7 TD tables for morning and early afternoon, winning a total of $114k over seven tables.
After a three hour hiatus RaiseOnce was back at the tables this time at the Omaha Hi Lo games - FLO8 being the only game so far this year in which he had managed to turn a profit. He was to extend it further yesterday winning over $200k in just over 800 hands of play, mostly at the expense of patpatman who undid most of his good work this week by turning in a -$330k day and was by far the biggest loser of the day after a promising start at the $100/$200 NLHE tables had netted him an early $50k profit and the two biggest pots of the day;
A complete airball bluff by Kanu7 is easily picked off by patpatman who makes top 2 in this $69.8k pot
Kanu7 thinks his top pair is good enough but patpatman's flopped two pair has him beaten in this $62k pot
It wasn't just RaiseOnce who took a bit out of patpatman's roll yesterday as Chung ho continued his dominance at the FLO8 tables, bagging a $264k win, putting his FLO8 winnings this year over the $850k mark.
There were no other six figure winners yesterday with the only other six figure loser being GVOZDIKA55 who totalled a $123k loss for the day after an early morning loss at the 2-7 triple draw tables, mostly to RaiseOnce. However, since midnight server time GVOZDIKA has all but erased these losses and is still currently playing.
