The First Week Of October - Barcode Prevails after Isildur1 Tears up the Tables

Barcode took advantage of some good cards and a fattened Isildur1 bankroll on his way to becoming the weeks biggest winner at PokerStars

The first week of October has seen some big wins by some big names as we saw a return to form for the likes of RaiseOnce (Phil Ivey?) and Isildur1 among others. RaiseOnce came into October right off the back of a big $372k win on the last day of September and looked to continue his run of form into October - something he would need to do if he wanted to erase the negative figure he has seen plaguing his 2012 figures for the vast majority of the year. Happily for the high stakes pro his form has indeed held up as he put in a series of good performances, including 2 six figure wins, during the first week of October.

One player who looked like he was in for a great first week was patpatman who started the week well and by the halfway mark was already over $400k to the good - due in no small part for his leader board topping $219k win on the first of the month. The Macau based player (who some have suggested may be Tom Dwan, we're not so sure) had an even better day on the third but even his $332k win wasn't enough to top the leaderboard as Ilari FIN had one of his (somewhat rare these days) huge wins, as he scored a stunning $340k victory at the $200/$400 PLO tables.

We also saw Ben "Ben86" Tollerene put in another good week as he pushed over $2 million profit for the past few months. A good $216k score on Wednesday helped him towards a $285k win for the week.

As the week drew to a close we were treated to an epic Friday of action as Viktor "Isildur1" finally went on one of his famed rushes, moving all the way up from small buy ins at the $25/$50 tables to accumulate over $900k profit at one point before his inevitable downswing. The biggest loser in Blom's huge rush was none other than the weeks former biggest winner patpatman who dropped over $600k over the weekend, ending the week as a $210k loser. You can read about Isildur's big win here

The biggest winner of the week however was "barcode" who won $563k for the week - all of it from the Isildur1 sessions where he hit a huge heater towards the end of the session playing $200/$400, winning several large six figure pots from Blom (in fact the three biggest pots of the week). Here is the biggest;

Both players flop a flush draw, Blom with top pair but barcode with bottom set and the set plays in this $198k pot

In fact, had it not been for that session barcode would have actually been a slight loser for the week.

Also faring well were LewisFriend who won $466k at the FLO8 tables, Harrington10 who took $410 at the PLO tables, RaiseOnce who took $396k mainly at the FLO8 tables and Phil "MrSweets28" who, courtesy of a near $300k win on 7th October ended the week a $310k winner.
