The nosebleed high stakes action over at PokerStars and Full Tilt took a backseat yesterday as the big winners came from the $50/$100 PLO and the $50/$100 and $100/$200 NLHE tables over at PokerStars. We did see a brief fluttering of $200/$400 PLO during the evening, but nothing like the matches we've seen of late, with relatively little in the way of action coming from them.
The biggest winner of the day was longerpig who enjoyed a $124.3k win. He played short bursts throughout the day at PokerStars $50/$100 and $25/$50 PLO tables but his winnings came from a late night heads up session against Kipu where he won $140k in exactly one hour of play. The two are in fact still playing with longerpig still enjoying much the better of things.
Here is their biggest hand from yesterday;
longerpig flops top set vs Kipu's top pair plus straight draw. Kipu commits himself on the turn and finds himself in need of some luck which never materialises - $59.5k pot
This hand however didn't get close to being among the biggest hands of the day which were predominantly played out at the $100/$200 NLHE tables at pokerstars. The biggest hand was actually reviewed yesterday as it formed part of the $400/$800 NLHE session between patpatpanda and Sauce1234. However, as this hand was counted during Monday's sessions here are the alternative biggest three hands;
Excellent call on the river from Sussie Smith holding just second pair as he suspects correctly that Sauce123 had missed a big draw - $107k pot
Cooler for patpatman in this heads up pot vs Kanu7 as his trip Aces fall to Kanu's turned full house - $98.3k pot
Once again patpatman holds the higher Ace but once again he gets outdrawn by Kanu7 in this $86.8k pot
Although longerpig was the only six figure winner yesterday others came close as Ike Haxton made a $95.2k score at the $50/$100 NLHE tables at PokerStars as he took on KTPOKP over two tables and four hours of heads up play. We also saw $94k scores for Kanu7 ($100/$200 NLHE) at PokerStars, for no_Ola over at Full Tilt where he grinded over 2.5k hands of $25/$50 PLO and for Barcode who was the only decent winner at the one $200/$400 PLO session.
We also saw a second consecutive positive day for Tom "durrrr" Dwan who looks to be slowly clawing back the c.$240k loss he made on his return to Full Tilt. He made c.$57k yesterday to add to the $25k he made on Monday via some $300/$600 NLHE sessions against Trueteller and a little $25/$50 PLO.
Yesterday's Biggest Winners
Ike Haxton +$95.2k
