There was plenty of high stakes action at both PokerStars and Full Tilt yesterday as November signed off in style.
As per usual, the majority of the exciting action at PokerStars came at the $200/$400 PLO tables with usual suspects Ilari "Ilari FIN" Sahamies and Barcode providing yet more high octane heads up action, joined for parts of proceedings by the likes of patpatman, Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky, Jared "Harrington10" Bleznick & Ignat "0Human0" Liviu. While over at Full Tilt, the return of Gus Hansen after taking some time out to play in the World Racketlon Championships in Stockholm lead to the inevitable hardcore highstakes grinding session we've become accustomed to from the Great Dane.
Over at PokerStars, if Ilari FIN was hoping to go on another big run following his $226k win Thursday then he was way off the mark this time as by the end of the mornings play he was already close to $390k down and when the day was done he found himself $430k in the hole. There were no big swings this time however, it was downhill all the way for the crazy Finn. Ilari and Barcode has had plenty of epic duals over the past couple of months and this time it was Barcode's turn to come out on top as he cruised to a $445.4k win yesterday. All Barcode's biggets pots of the day came from clashes with Ilari;
Ilari three barrells this board but is behind all the way, eventually hitting his flush but losing anyway - $200.5k pot
Ilari picks up some outs on the turn but the board pairs the river to send this $176.1k pot to Barcode
Once again Ilari has decent outs on the turn but the board simply improves Barcode's hand in this $140k pot
Ilari was also on the wrong end of the days biggest hand, which fell to patpatman;
patpatman flops the nuts in this potentially enormous three way hand, however Barcode gets out of the way as Ilari looks him up and ends up losing this $273.3k pot
The next two biggest winners of the day came from Full Tilt's limit tables as Gus Hansen won $227k and SallyWoo made a $206.7k score. Strangely enough SallyWoo actually took his entire win from none other than Hansen in a 10 hour heads up session of $1k/$2k FLO8. However, Gus was simultaneously taking on several of his regular foes at the $1k/$2k 2-7 Triple Draw tables as he crushed Kagome Kagome, Rui Cao and mastrblastr taking them for around $450k combined, enabling him to end the day with his $227k win.
Things haven't been going so well for Gus today however as he seems to have lost pretty much all his profits at the $200/$400 PLO tables and is currently on a break around $20k up since he started yesterday morning.
Yesterday's Biggest Winners
Gus Hansen +$227k
