I was only saying a couple of days ago how writing off Phil "Polarizing" Ivey was not really an option, despite him falling to around -$800k since the relaunch of Full Tilt. How prophetic those words look now as in the past three days he has won $818k at the site - including a table topping $589k win yesterday.
Ivey spread out his winnings between the mixed games, PLO and NLHE, although his single biggest win came at the NLHE tables where he took on Alex "IReadYrSoul" Millar heads up at a table of $300/$600. In a single session lasting just over an hour Ivey took over $280k from the young brit, winning from the start to the finish of the dual and shipping all the biggest pots along the way. The session produced three six figure pots, all of which fell to Ivey. Here is the biggest;
A coin flip here as Ivey's 10 10 manages to outlast AK - $135.6k pot
Although this match took place in a morning session, Ivey was already well over $200k up for the day when he took on Millar having won six figure sums at both the mixed tables (where he took patpatpanda for $101k in just 40 minutes) and at the $200/$400 CAP PLO tables.
We also saw some great action at the $200/$400 PLO tables over at PokerStars with big wins for both GVOZDIKA55 (+$317.6k) and Barcode (+$277.8k). The action lasted for around 9 hours in total and produced not only some of the biggest winners and losers of the day but also all the days biggest pots. Here are the biggest two;
An incredibly fortuitous river for ChaoRen160 as GVOZDIKA held the nuts all the way to the last card - $154.8k pot
Cooler for Barcode who gets it in good with top set only for GVOZDIKA's nut flush draw to complete on the turn - $149.6k pot
The big (six figure) losers from the PLO games at Stars were Ilari FIN, 1-ronnyr3, Theo J and Jeans89.
There were two more >$200k winners yesterday, both at Full Tilt as Patrik Antonius won $252.4k, all from a single session of 2-7 triple draw from Rui Cao (who, while he was losing issued a $1m challenge to Antonius, which was duly accepted). We also saw a return to winning ways for Viktor "Isildur1" Blom who looked to be heading towards another loss yesterday as he fell six figures before bouncing back with a huge $356k win against Alex "Alexonmoon" Luneau in a 2 hour session of triple draw last night. Blom ended the day a $207.3k winner to end what has been a huge month for him on a high.
There were also two other six figure winners at Full Tilt yesterday as David Benefield won $145.8k in the CAP PLO games and yet again SallyWoo produced the goods, winning $132.6k at the FLO8 tables.
In other news it looks like we saw the last of TCOOP six figure winner SennaBoris79 as he attempted to parlay his c.$200k tourney scoop into bigger money by diving in to the $50/$100 NLHE tables. The waiting lists exploded as everyone fought to take a piece of the amateurs new found wealth. After a couple of days winning Boris's inexperience finally caught up with him and he was relieved of pretty much all his money :(
It looks like it is going to be another good day at the tables today as all the big names are already out and playing so come back tomorrow to see how it all went down.
