Starting a bankroll

Hey all

I've been reading this forum (and 2p2) for quite a while now but never really had the urge to start posting as I'm not much of a poker player myself.
But a couple weeks ago I got reminded that I still had 50 bucks on my UB account (which I got for free) and I thought I might aswell give it a go.

I played some 0.1/0.2 tables and am now at $69.86 basicly playing super tight as its hard to bluff and easy to get the money in with good cards.
This makes it easy to multi table as I'm not playing many hands and the once I'm playing are just basic abc poker.

So after some practice I dont find it to hard to play 10-15 tables (depending on traffic, connection, focus,..).

The reason I'm posting this is because the site which I got the 50 bucks from has a rake race (raked hands so the stakes I play wont matter) and I'm gonna try and see if I can get some money from it.
So this post is just really to keep myself motivated to put enough hands in everyday. Hoping to get atleast 2k hands a day.

I know most people wont give a damn about some newbie starting poker and playing these micro stakes but you dont have to visit this post ever again if you dont want to.

Worst case senario: giving up/going broke
Best case senario: getting 100-200 bucks from the rake race and some profit from the poker itself, giving me a decent roll to put on a different site and grind first deposit bonusses.

We'll see how it go's, I'll try updating alot just to keep myself motivated

RE: Starting a bankroll

you might want to check again, the details of the rake race, in my experience when the races are linked to raked hands there is usually a minimum requirement of rake usually 0.25 cents, which excludes the micro grinders from claiming big prizes.

However, good luck

RE: Starting a bankroll

Good luck but I find it's much much easier to just deposit a bit in to get started. The 10nl players are probably just as bad as some 25nl or 50nl players as those are the limits most players start off when first depositing.

I'd say to kick start just deposit $500 or so and jump into 25nl or 50nl. I guess at the end of the day if you feel it's a nice learning process and ignore the hourly rate then that's ok.
