Eire Abu downswing...

Interesting to see him having it so rough with his movign up stakes. What I'm wondering is what did he do on his week off? He took a week off recently and has had a tough time since coming back. We all know that often we play well after a break. But choosing this as a time to move to the highest stakes is questionable. It depends on what he did during the week off. If he spent the week watching and taking notes on the 200/400 games before moving up then that's not so bad but if he was on holiday and having a few beers or whatever then I don't see it as a good move to then move up on return. He should of given it a week at his old stakes. Book a solid 50k or 100k win for the week and get back in the groove. It's very easy to loose to groove. Loose 2% of the zone feeling that he obviously was in and the consequences can be heavy, especially at the levels he is playing. I remember once having a great winning streak, long stretches with no losing days, totally in the zone, then went on holidays for a week, came back and lost half my roll in the next 3 weeks. Was just slightly too relaxed, that few % off my best, lost the toughness. I wonder if this is what is going on with Eire Abu right now?

Believe me this is a very important and underrated factor!

Having said all that, it's not detremental. I mean, how many buy-ins is he actually down? Not so bad. It happens....but he certainly isn't playing at his very best the last few days.

Interesting.

RE: Eire Abu downswing...

Hi, I did use the word "downswing" but I did also stress how it is not a detremental situation to loose what he has lost over a weekend at these stakes.

But if you really knew what you are talking about you would know that he ain't playing quite so good since he came back as he was before and I'm just asking the question as to why? It's one thing to loose a small amount of buy-ins over a few days of PLO....another matter entirely to know exactly why they were lost Smile

For the record, I'm certain he will turn it around.

RE: Eire Abu downswing...

He just lost 12.5 buyins, because this was at 200/400.That's nothing in PLO.

He played his best as usual,I don't think he made any mistakes.I saw 4 big pots he played...all perfect.

Are you sure that he took a week off and then started immediately at the higher stakes? According to his recent results as they are shown in this site, he played the whole last week and moved up just a few days ago...

RE: Eire Abu downswing...

He actually lost a lot of money whilst playing with 30bb and he won a lot of his money this year playing very deep.

So when he has 7k behind and there is 10k in a pot where is the opponents fold equity?

He did seem to play badly and did alot of check raise then fold.

It has to be the cashout curse..... :0 sorry couldnt help myself! 3K hands playing that high is NOT defined as a downswing, it is VARIANCE. PLO is a sick game ya know.....

RE: Eire Abu downswing...

Did anyone made a thread about 0human0's downswing? That one looks like a trainwreck.

RE: Eire Abu downswing...

EireAbu is a solid player just suffering from PLO varience pretty sure he will bounce back and be at or very near the top off the yearly leaderboard at the end of 2012. As for IgNIT Liviu's downswing i too am glad 2 see it Smile
