I am playing on stars the 5c/10 Zoom plo game. So far I played 25700 Hands and I´m loosing 278$. I´m not that good at plo but i feel like that i play better than average I get it in good but in the big pots i loose the most so that might be a reason why I`m loosing or I´m just not good enough.
My questions are:
-Is it normal to have such a long downswing in plo? -Have you experienced such downswings too? -How long does a downswing last ond average in plo? -What would you do in my position? -How do you figure out that you beat the game?

Yes, downswings could get way longer then this...50-100k downswings arent unreasonable Ive experienced way longer downswing stretches...mainly in sngs Id probably drop down in stakes to rebuild confidence if i were you, or if you still have a good bankroll keep playing this game, if youre good enough to beat it you eventually will Typically if you can win 50 buyins at a stake without running WAY over EV you probably know that you're a longterm winner. Or if you breakeven pre RB at like 100k hands or something you probably know that youre a long term winner post RB also

Losing is one thing, losing with a better hand is an other, losing by bad beats a third.
For instance: losing big pots may happen when
you get a set or a straight or flush or even a full house on the flop and lose ag. something better.
So my question is: how did you lose ?; how many losing hands?

Variance is very high in Zoom cos there is less skill involved. Rake is high and makes it extra hard to beat.
Would recommend you to quit Zoom ASAP and switch to normal format.

I'm up quite a lot in zoom and rush poker. It's super easy to beat, I reckon.
But you have to accept certain things... in PLO being ahead is a marginal thing. Unless you have them crushed (flopped full house etc, or trips on a ridiculously dry board) in lower stakes PLO people will call almost ANY draws. So you get all in with a great hand, even the nuts on the flop, but you'll almost always have one guy chasing weird gut-shot straights and runner runner flushes, and low trips that hit full house etc... So though you may have the best hand, and be ahead quite a bit, if you count all the outs multiple people have to crush you, then it becomes a game of huge variance.
I would say the most important thing at those stakes it pot size control. Once you can manipulate the pot size to suit your draws/hands, you'll start winning.
And make sure you don't just shove aces all in unless they're suited or you have other good cards. I see people doing this a lot. Re-raising over and over with just aces. In PLO aces aren't that fantastic of a hand when your other two cards are rubbish. Unless you hit your trips you'll be in trouble a lot of the time.
That's about it, really. Playing normal is probably easier if you're not comfortable, but yeah, I like zoom. I think it's pretty soft all in all.
GL!
