Durrrr/Isildur1 prediction thread for match on Dec 9 2012: WHO WINS?

I lurk the forums a lot without posting, but I gotta say this is my favorite group of railers on the internet, and that includes 2+2 (great forum there though!) Although I don't post much, I know a lotta fellas here with shoutouts to OMG (so glad you didn't quit the forums @2000 posts, man) and re-donk (basically most well-reasoned poster IMO). You guys and the other regs here have made it a pleasure to come here. Thanks guys. Really.

aaaaanyway,

I saw a few folks wondering and making predictions for this long-anticipated matchup. Some of the most well-known players are about to compete for at least $200,000 BRs (the stakes have already gone up once) which isn't quite the MILLION BUCKS ZOMG we had become used to seeing, it's not chump change either!

TL;DR NOW GET TO THE PREDICTION, DONK

My amateur, penny-grinder, armchair analysis:

-Isildur1 has unquestionably varied his style since he broke out in 2009. His PLO has become more refined, and I think that outside of a few 500k meltdowns he's one of the stronger players out there (still no match for Galfond or Sauce though: I think those guys have just about solved PLO.) But this ain't PLO.

From the little we've seen of Isildur in NLHE in the last few years, I don't really see a big change in style. Get the stacks deep, overbet the river with good hands, give the other player HARD DECISIONS in a non-stop assault. It's a wide open style, and I realize that it's not even the best style, but in my opinion Victor is still a genius and can (and has) made it work against the best in the business with his Showdown results. He works best with a captive "victim" that he can wear down.

-Muthaf**kin DWAN. He's the guy that made me love poker, when I first saw him on HSP many years ago (RIP Doyle). While the play styles of these two look similar on the outside (loose-aggressive), I think that Durrrr's postflop play is probably the best there is. He is a psychologist and knows not only if you're weak or strong, but the razor-thin margin of what it takes to get you to bluff-raise rather than fold, or cry-fold rather than look him up. I railed him online, every tournament, every HSP and PAD, and basically LEARNED poker from him (no I'm not that good, about $5 over break-even before black friday)

So although I'm a huge fan of both players, I'm going to have to say that 2009 was a fluke. Dwan has put up more consistent results, while Isildur1 has something to prove being lifetime stuck MILLIONS since his tracking began. Barring some crazy suckouts (this IS still a game of chance), Dwan is going to put Isildur1 away in less than 2000 hands. Isildur1 knows how to bring the pressure. And Dwan knows how to handle it.

MY PREDICTION: DURRRR>ISILDUR1
