Scandalous! LockPoker refuses to disclose their rake structure

Hi all,

I live in the US so I am greatly limited as far as what site to play on. A year or so ago I opened up an account with LockPoker who was then part of the MERGE network. The action was average at best but it was fine. When I first signed up I did see a rake chart from MERGE.

LockPoker then left to join the Revolution Network and all hell broke loose. I don't even know where to start my rant.

1- The Software is absolute ****. You have to click multiple times to get the software to acknowledge a bet, check, or fold. Occasionally, you sit at a table and never get dealt in. In tournament, you pay you BB, the next hand you get move to another table where you SB is posted but you have no cards!!! Many times to site freezes to the point where some of your cash games are still playing while you get blinded down in a tournament table. The cash game lobby is awful, you sign up for a waiting list and never get called for the game. When you check 10 minutes later, your name is no longer on the waiting list.

2- The action is almost non existent for some games. I used to play a lot of PLO8 on MERGE, on Revolution there is hardly anything going on. 2,000 - 6,000 players at the peak on the site.

3- LockPoker will no disclose their rake structure. I wanted to find out how much my cash games where being raked so I went to the website (lock poker.eu) and did not find anything. I then performed a google search and could not find anything at either the LOCK or REVOLUTION level. So I email the LOCKPOKER customer support and here is the answer I got back:

(I redacted my name but the rest is a copy paste from the actual email)

You have to be kidding right?

The games I play are being raked so you obviously have rules and structures defining how the games are raked.
I demand to see a rake structure table.

Thanks in advance,

Carpediem72: Calm down, you received an error in this topic, you didn't get a notice about we trying to censure anything so no meaning to post 3 topics with the same issue.

Sorry but it worked fine for 5 minutes. I was able to view and add to the thread and then it gave an error. What's weird is that I could see every other thread but not this one.

Anyway thanks for taking care of the issue.

Sincerely,

RE: Scandalous! LockPoker refuses to disclose their rake structure

OK, so I played for about an hour on lock and counted what went in and out of each pot.

I was playing PLO 0.02/0.04 and observe on a sample of about 25 pots where I did the math that LOCKPOKER takes 0.01 for EVERY 0.15 in the pot with a max $3 per pot for 5+ players at the table. So that is 6.66% of every pot by slices of 15 cents.

No wonder they refuse to disclose their rake. This is by far the worst I have seen on any poker site.
PokerStars charges 3.5% at 0.01/0.02 with a max of $0.30 for 5+ players and 4.15% at 0.02/0.05 with a max of $1 for 5+ players (and only max $0.50 for 4 players or less).

US Dollar Games

No Limit and Pot Limit

Stakes% Rake2 Player Cap3-4 Player Cap5+ Player Cap
$0.01/$0.023.50%$0.30$0.30$0.30
$0.02/$0.054.15%$0.50$0.50$1.00
$0.05/$0.10 to $0.08/$0.164.50%$0.50$1.00$1.50
$0.10/$0.254.50%$0.50$1.00$2.00
$0.25/$0.504.50%$0.50$1.50$2.50
$0.50/$1 to $3/$64.50%$0.50$1.50$2.80
$5/$10 to $10/$204.50%$0.50$1.50$3.00
$25/$504.50%$0.50$2.00$3.00
$50/1004.50%$2.00$3.00$5.00
$100/$200 and above4.50%$2.00$5.00$5.00

In conclusion, if my observation and math on LOCKPOKER's rake is accurate, I cannot wait for pokerstars to come back.

RE: Scandalous! LockPoker refuses to disclose their rake structure

And, about the rake spread cheat, I guess they have the same rake structure as Intertops since they are both on the Revolution network. So, try this link:

http://poker.intertops.eu/en/help/faq.aspx

You have a rake calculator on the bottom there.

Well I have a well balanced life but I do like to play online poker as everyone in here. However, I'd love not to get violated by the rake.

Thanks I will try it.

However, just to be clear, I never said that they cheated. I simply provided evidence that they could not or would not disclose their rake structure. Their rake is what it is, they can charge what they want but they should disclose it. Especially if you ask for it.

LOCKPOKER conveniently forgot to disclose that they were going to rake more when they left MERGE. THAT IS DISHONEST!

RE: Scandalous! LockPoker refuses to disclose their rake structure

So if I understand your rant correctly let me write back what I think I'm reading.

You are whining about not knowing the rake structure while you are playing for pennies doing something that in essence has been outlawed in the USA.
