I just read Gus Hansen's blog in the danish newspaper Ekstrabladet, which normally is a translation of his english articles - http://www.gushansenpoker.com/gus-hansen-blog.php.

This time it is different. In the danish article (http://ekstrabladet.dk/poker/gus/article1042370.ece) Gus is refererring to highstakesdb.com in a part of the text. I have translated it into english:

Don't trust highstakesdb.com
I just feel the need to put a comment on the website highstakesdb.com. I have actually not yet been able to match their calculations with my own, so how they calculate wins and loses is a mystery. I know that Theo Jørgensen (THEDONKEYNO1) has the same problem.

So.... is this true? Has anyone verified the actual wins and losses?

Alot of players think we match the results quite good, while some players has mailed us and ask questions since there results does not match at all. In some cases it's because we have missed a huge session, but in most cases it's because the players has been doing very good on for example Texas NL CAP, Omaha  Hi/Lo (Just monitored one month), and HORSE (Just monitored one month)

And like we all know Gus Hansen had some sick month in the beginning of this year on Omaha Hi/Lo and I also think he did very well on HORSE and these are not in the results. So, it all depends how you search.

At the moment we probably monitor about 85-95% on Texas NL and Omaha PL, and pretty close to 100% on HORSE and Omaha Hi/lo on Full Tilt Poker so our goal is more to give a pretty good picture on the ups and downs.

I'll fix it, but we soon have a new hand replayer and then this bug will be fixed.

It would be interesting to hear Gus elaborate more on why he thinks the results are wrong. He is not a stupid guy so he should be able to subtract his wins/losses in the fixed limit games up until the point hsdb started to monitor them so i guess that is not where it differs.

But its also kind of funny that a player that is on the all time losers list claims that the results are wrong. I havent heard Ivey or Benyamin complain thus far

I think alot of people don't notice that we started to monitor Hi/Lo and HORSE just a couple of month ago and if you look on Gus Hansen he had some huge days where he won close to a million two times or something and this is not included since we did not monitor these games at the time.

Sometimes we miss a session, problems with our servers etc, but, i still think we cover a very high % on FTP, a little lower on Prima but we are doing our best to try and give people a pretty good picture on the results, but our results will probably never be 100%.

Now I have to write some reports, has been working 24/7 with another project + some new stuff on hsdb also!
