hey thanks badriver....

alright, im technically rolled at 50NL. BR is slightly over $1k now. Actually, i've been rolled for 50NL the past week, but I have and still am working on having 25-30 buy ins before i make the move full time to 50NL. Due to my strategy at moving through the stakes, IMO knowing myself, this will help me psychologically to deal with shitty days. Besides taking a couple of shots the past week at 50NL, ive stuck to 25NL this entire time. This is an improvement if you have followed my blog previously. [Wink] With the training program, I've crushed 25NL as I should and expect nothing less of 50NL. I also still plan on having a coach when i hit 100NL to help me make the transition to 200NL and small stakes. I'll do this when I move to mid and high as well. Ill continue to post randomly and will update when I get to 100NL and whats up with the coach etc..

As far as UIGEA, pshhh i'm not even worried. Bush and his goons didn't write the best legislation and its looking like we have a ton in our favor with the new obama administration. Everyone needs to do there part in making the appropriate people aware so we can get back to the old poker boom days. Also, spread the word that its ok to play. I talk to so many people who even before this latest UIGEA who think its illegal to play. Shoot, even the new UIGEA didn't make online poker illegal. Do you party guys so our waters will be plentiful!

hey everyone just giving a quick update.. i'm doing the training program and so far so good. I'm beyond impressed and my game has improved tenfold and ive only been doing it a few weeks. I couldnt be more pleased and this is worth every penny. :)

I was originally playing on stars when i first started back up and just couldnt NOT take advantage of my rb on ft. so I left stars and went back to ft. I had like $8 in my account from previous rakeback that I didnt even know was in there. so instead of depositing I just messed around with that and figured id just deposit something when I bust. well I never busted. I built that $8 to about $100 playing $5sngs and 10nl 6max. after around $100 i started playing 25nl and never looked back. Iv'e played about 6k hands of 25nl and sitting at $680. when i get to around 25 buy ins for 50nl ill move up. ill probably start taking shots at 50nl when i get to $1k. my longer term goal is to get about 25-30 buy ins for 100nl and do a one on one coaching program and use this to start getting ready to make the transition from micro stakes to small stakes. alright, ill give another update once i get to 50nl....

I think I have overcome it, but I hate to sit here and say that, only because I want to prove it to myself and everyone and that takes time. Personally, I feel I have matured a lot as far as poker. I have also done a lot of studying about bankroll managment and the psychology of how some of the top pro's that I most respect handle the bad beats, swings, etc. Right now im on stars playing 10NL only because that is what i'm correctly rolled for. So far, I am destroying it and I should be otherwise I shouldn't be writing this blog. My ROI is a little under 400% so far. I've honestly never seen my cash game so strong before, but it's only 10NL so I do have a ways to go before I start bragging and saying how strong my cash game is. That's all I'm going to say about this current run because I don't plan on writing frequently to my blog until I have made a significant achievement. In fact I probably won't write anymore about my run until I have moved up limits, and thats a maybe right now.

I do look forward to the mentor program I spoke of in my last post. I will be starting in the middle of October or beginning of November. I have a good feeling about it.

Hope you got over the "Let's jump into 1K NL and risk it" moods and don't play out of your bankroll limits , "slowly" move up the limits . Just checked your stats on sharkscope and seems you were doing good on FullTilt. If the cash games don't work out , you should change back to SNG .

Hey everyone.

Wanted to make a post to fill you in on what's going on. I created an account on stars a few weeks ago, and in the past week I have finally mentally gotten 100% back into poker. Been a really long break (6-7 months or more??) with games here and there but nothing consistent. I just had no desire to play and my game showed it. Any how, I love playing poker this time of the year because it seems like everyone is handing out money so its an excellent time to build a roll. I have been absolutely destroying the games I've been playing on stars. i have only been playing cash games (NO SNG) and i must say my cash game is probably at the best its ever been. I also will be going through a mentor type program here the next 6 months or more just depending with a couple of top online pro's to improve even more.

I don't plan on posting regularly in here until im playing significantly higher than micro limits. So after this post, you wont see a anything from me for a while. i may fill you all in where my br stands when I make significant increases but thats about it. I still stand by the title of my blog, "my blog of starting from scratch and going all the way to highstakes". This blog section has had a lot of haters on some of the other blogs and only a couple on mine who apparently didnt read the title of my blog or they missed the word "scratch" When i said scratch I meant br and skill wise. So you are really seeing someone start from an infant stage and growing up. I do want to thank all my supporters because i have had way more support than haters and i think i speak for a lot of people like me who have start with NOTHING.

Hey thanks man. I appreciate what you say. I do believe that my br management has been my biggest downfall. However, I have not deposited much of my own money, i've bought some really nice things with my winnings, and i've gotten some great experience, and I have had a great time. The good thing is that as i become older and more mature and more experienced I will correct my br management. I don't look at poker the same as I did say even a year ago. I am sure you could learn some things from me. Feel free to ask me any poker questions through this blog. that is why i created this blog in the first place, to discuss poker hands etc because I also would like to learn from some of you. discuss any of my hands etc that i post.

currently I'm still playing with the $50 I deposited a while ago. Because I havent played much poker all summer I havent turned it into anything. In fact, I'm sitting at exactly $50 right now. just up and down running crappy and im sure not playing with my mind 100% in it. I have been playing more frequently here this past week. playing two sng's at a time. I finally ran nice last night and that's how I got back up to $50. $5 sngs and $10 nl tables blow. i can hardly stand playing because the return is so small. if i can just get up to about $200 i'll start playing $10 sngs and build up fairly quick so I can at least sit $25 nl and not be risking too much. we will see what happens.

i agree and disagree. i apologize if i am reading it wrong...

i agree that yes, its definitely a gamble playing say $44 sngs with only 4 buy ins. no question. but it all depends on the person playing and what their objective is. for fun or trying to build a br... sng variance can be quite tough at times no matter who you are and competition is much better at those levels versus $5 sngs. as far as skill, i definitely believe skill is a large part in the long run of poker. short run, eh donks will hit and thats good because they will continue to come back and play horrible. in fact, i like to see a donk push all in preflop with 2's and kill my a's for the simple reason that i will make it all back and then some most of the time.

As far as the 2+2 thread, i was glad to see the one guy defend me towards the end. They are also forgetting that ive only been playing poker for a few years and a lot of my entries from way back are examples of me still learning and my inexperience shows. Ive also stated that a couple times in past blog post. if i had a roll still, id love to play those guys. i sorta have a feeling i already have because the guy was obviously mad about something and took the time to write about it. they do make a point though and that is i havent had the best br management. bad bankroll management doesnt mean someone is a donk (at least my definition) and ive at least had ok management because i have cashed out and bought some really nice things. keep in mind i typically only buy in with $30-$50. buying in with that amount is hit or miss. i can think of two times my entire career of playing online that I have bought in with $150 of my own money.

definitely no hard feelings about the 2+2 post. in fact like i said before, im flattered lol. oh and if they want to state that im a donk, please do. that will just make people underestimate me and then i can go buy some more cool stuff haha.

Honestly, when I think of how great I've played, I smile, but when I think about how I blew my 165 dollar bank on $44 heads up it makes me never wanna play. i was 11% ROI at 5 average SNG and doin fine but now go look at my stupid *** stats as lowlimitgangsta = broke. im the donk. they at least post your SNG winnings chart showing all ups.

[i]-my preference really does vary but id say overall i like playing cash games over sngs. 1. because the style of play is much different and most of the time in my opinion cash games are much more exciting and 2. i can build my roll up much quicker playing cash games versus sngs. on the flip side though, i can lose it much quicker.

its my opinion that i can control variance much more playing sngs. I am better than your avg sng player so it may be different for me. also, losing say $5 and $10 buy ins over a few hours is much better than losing say $100 in 10 minutes.

I also feel that at the lower limits both sngs and ring games are very easy to beat. skill level is very low in my opinion. remember that the average poker player is a losing poker player. [/i]

-If you are referring to the turbo sng's i really dont have much opinion because i don't play them much. The majority of the sng's i play are the standard ones. I also hate $5 sngs because it takes for ever to make any kind of profit but, when starting out with next to nothing, you just gotta deal with it. As for 25NL tables, i think they are very soft. [i]-you should see much more fluctuation at the cash tables. that is pretty standard. I play 6 max unless im playing way out of my limits which ill usually play 9. Depending on how im feeling, ill play 1-4 tables. just got a new laptop (thanks to ftp lol) so im still getting used to multi tabling with it. [/i]

I dont know how much you are starting out with, but from looking at your blog it doesnt look like much, which is the same with me right now and thats usually how I start out because i hate risking my own money. The way that I have been the most successful at starting with nothing (usually start with $50) is sucking it up and playing $5 sngs (at least 2 at a time with $5 sngs and some 18 man) until im at around $250 - $300, then i start playing a couple $10 sngs's depending on how im running.. i usually wont even start playing cash tables until im well over $500 - $700.. and even then i start at $25 nl. btw i cant stand $10 nl. well i hope i answered your questions, if not give me another shout and ill see what i can do. good questions btw...

What's up everyone

So it's been about 2 months since I last posted. As I said before I moved to a really cool part of town and have been having a great time partying and enjoying my summer. One of the best summers I have had in a few years. It's been so much fun that I have barely even played the past few months. Well I just recently bought one of those sweet dell xps laptops and have been playing a few sngs here and there building up a bankroll so I can have something to play with again. Sitting with about $90 on ftp and looking to do the usual. I'll keep you all posted...

hey everyone...

Still getting settled in my new place. Pool parties, bars, gyms, etc.. so havent played much. Also been stuck playing the new mario cart on wii lol. This past weekend, in between all the fun I played a couple $10nl (6 max) tables and I ended + about $35. Also took 3rd in a $5 sng. I'll get back into it soon. Probably a well deserved/needed break im on.

About the screens, I'm running a 50" LCD at the moment, and I debating on taking my profits off this current run and buying another so I can watch sports etc. and play the other at the same time. would be pretty sweet. possibly hook my cpu up to it lol. grind like mrlol is talking about lol..

Hey thanks for the support math dylan. I appreciate it.

As of right now because my monitor is only a 19" wide screen, I can only fit 4 tables comfortably without overlapping. I'm looking to invest in two or at least one 27" in the near future along with a new computer. still running my pos I had in college.

The run I just recently wrote about on bodog, I was only playing 1 table at a time. This is primarily due to the software. Other than that I prefer to only play 2-3 cash tables at a time. Maybe more if I have some sngs thrown in there. Only playing 2-3 allows me to focus more on the players instead of just playing abc poker and missing out on some potential opportunities. Also, the amount of tables I play depends a lot on when and how I'm feeling.

No, with the limits I'm correctly supposed to be playing, I just don't see any reason to keep all that money online. If I'm sticking to my limits, then a few hundred will be sufficient. I'll be keeping the money in a high interest savings account and if I need to reload then so be it. I have a good job outside of poker so I will have no reason to touch it and will remain strictly for poker and will hopefully continue to grow.

Also, I changed my strategy on building a large roll from nothing. When I first started this blog, I said some things due to my lack of experience and being a young player overall that I just don't agree with now. My new strategy to building is that I'm just not going to try anymore. I'm not throwing in the towel, but what I mean is if you notice, sometimes its a lot easier to accomplish something when you aren't putting yourself under pressure to get it done. Just let it happen and only focus on making the best move now. "A watched pot will never boil." It just seemed like with my whole roll online I was always watching it.

well made another +$360 this weekend playing 25nl and +$155 playing $10 sngs. not 100% sure cause I havent looked at my account but im at about $1100 with my bodog account putting me + $1050 in two weeks on $25nl except for the first $400 which was on $100nl. and have 1500 on my ftp account which i havent even touched in the past 2 weeks. not too bad. I think im cashing out and only keeping $200 on both to play with. besides the weekends, i havent had much interest in playing much.

Still playing my Bodog account with the $50 I deposited last week. Made another $200 this weekend playing 6-max $25nl and my Bodog account is now at $600. + 8 buyins.. I'm happy. I'll probably continue to play there for a while.

whats up everyone.. havent been playing as much as usual lately... i did for the fun of it put $50 on bodog saturday and made a quick $400 playing 6 max $100nl. no pt hands i can post or anything. i think im going to take building the br at a different approach then i have before, and thats keeping most of my money off line. i think it helps build and stops the temptation of being stupid. ftp now has the insta check option which makes it so much easier to do that. kinda glad, cause it seems like online poker is getting back to normal. now if party poker would just accept usa players again!! ;)
