There`s another great cardplayer tv interview, with Sam Farha this time. He talks a lot about PLO and stuff like that. Also says that he has played against Tom Dwan the last days in the Big Game, and Dwan has kicked his *** Funny that Sam can`t really spell his name, he says Tom Durrrn or stuff like this, but we all know who he means

Another interesting thing: When Sammy talks about the young internet players, playing now in the big game against him and the others he mentions one guy who was the biggest winner last year, on a lot of magazine covers and so on, and know is broke. Can someone tell me, who does sam mean? Niki Jedlika aka Kai Buxxe?? Thats my guess. But in a german Blog, Overcards, where he blogged to, Niki said that he still has enough money but just needs a break from poker. I don`t know. Maybe someone of you knows more.

Great interview, have fun: http://www.cardplayer.com/tv/33329

Probably he is talking of Brian Townsend... I dunno if he is broke, but I remember that Farha played him during the WSOP 2007.

But, to be honest, Niki Jedlicka would make much more sense, didn't see him lately and wouldn't be the first time that he is broke...

Townsend is not broke. He's been playing PLO10K, PLO20k and some PLO40k the past few days. Search Townsend here and you will see some hands posted. My guess would be Jedlicka, but who knows, there's a lot of young players at the high stakes nowadays.

Thanks for the heads up about the interview OP.

I dont think it is Niki J. because he was younger than 21 last year. Sam Farha probably talked about Brian Townsend. Sammy and he played 2k/4k hu plo/nlh last year.

Sammy said that this player was the biggest winner online and Townsend was it until the WSOP 2007.

Im not sure if sammy knows that Brian still sometimes plays High stakes poker online so that he thought Townsend is broke because he didnt play in bobby rooms this year.

I do not know for sure, but I hardly think Brian Townsend is broke. i have heard him talk about his 40 buy in downswing in PLO which would have been about 1.6 million which would hardly have been his entire role. Also, he did pretty well against Sammy last summer but then lost most of that to Bobby Baldwin. In the last year he had been focusing on his heads up challenge and his losses in that time span have never been huge. He acknowledged recently being down to 300k on Full Tilt, hardly broke, and was debating rebuilding from there or redepositing. He just won 120k on poker after dark, he played the bug european cash game a year ago after the WSOP, owns part of Cardrunners, and still lives on the beach in Santa Barbara and never discusses the possibility that he needs to look for a job. i would guess he still has a couple million in the bank, but what do I know, i'm just a donk who's been reading his blog for the last 15 months. Cheers.

Yeah, i got the same opinion. Can`t really believe Brian is broke. I mean, he hasn`t played for a long time in the high stakes games on full tilt, but i always thought not because of being broke, just because of doing other business and stuff. Live Games, Cardrunner business and so on. At Poker after dark he was not really excitet about his win, and didn`t really look like the money and the win was very important for him, even ali nejad mentioned that on tv. Im with u, i think he has still some millions. But i don`t really now 4 sure.
