I watch railheaven all the time and judging from the hands I see, like the one between trex and patatino where they both pushed with flush draws, I feel like it really wouldn't be that amazing for a decent hold em player to sit down and win. Anybody know something I don't?

A decent player could win at railheaven. I rate decent player a bit higher then average player tho. But I think only if a big fish sat there, like patatino or elmariachimacho. But the problem is that the decent player couldnt be playing scared money, and not a lot of average through decent players have the money to not be scared at 500/1k

this is a pretty stupid thread, the average player would get destroyed, sure u might win with a flush draw or a pair of twos but if u stick around u will go broke

have to agree with the last poster - an average player could/might win for a while until the real players adjusted to what I assume would be a fairly standard player with some fairly obvious plays. If he/she stuck around though they would get fleeced for every dime. I also wouldn't make the mistake of thinking patatino as that massive a fish - he's finished high in some pretty major events, he's just a billionaire who likes to gamble and has the cash to do it and is still a much better player than average.

There is no way an average player could ever be a long term winner at railheaven

You shouldnt judge the game by watching this one hand. I think there are couple of reasons why you wouldnt be a winner in this game long term.

1) The stakes; playing for that kind of money will make you feel uncomfortable and probably make you think more about the money in the pot rather than making the correct play.

2) Tight players wont win; I guess your thinking when seeing this hand is that you would sit down and play solid poker with good hands. The problem is that if you were to do that you would probably get no action whatsoever. You must give action to get action and with giving action you might get into huge swings and then we are back on 1) again.

3) Prejudices; So many people have been watching durrrr or trex play theese crazy hands on hsdb. And with that in mind you will probably put them on a very wide range. And if you dont think that they will adapt and exploit that you are in big trouble.
