RE: Bankroll progress report....

...Reflecting on this graph i realize an interesting point i need to address.

My PLO variance is significantly lower than my HE variance. It should be the other way around mathematically. PLO by nature is a swingier game than HE. Also, i learned HE first, PLO came much later.

I have to be realistic about this and identify the reasons for this oddity in order of likelihood...

#1 - My HU Hold'Em game needs work. (playing too fast)
#2 - I'm running like god in PLO HU.
#3 - I'm running badly in Hold'Em HU.

It's probably a bit from #1 and #2, but i can still dream it's #3 at night to make me feel better about myself.

Edit: ALSO, It's clear i jumped into level-3 a little too "balls-to-the-wall". I explored a wide range of games/buy-ins to play and this is definitely a probable cause for the high-variance at the beginning of level-3. I need to stick to games that i have BUILT my roll with. If i want to explore new games/formats i need to go back to the bottom level and build up my comfort level.

...In other words, just cause i'm rolled to play a game doesn't mean i should. If i want to explore/goof off, i need to go back to level 1 or 2 to avoid risk.

RE: Bankroll progress report....

Does anyone enjoy these visual/graphical updates?

I've seen other blogs that really don't give much visual reference throughout a "BR challenge" and am wondering if it's worth the added effort.

I'm sure i will enjoy looking back at the graphs later on anyways, so i guess my real question is, is ANYONE enjoying following this? I'm having fun!

Let me know what you want to see changed/added and i will humor you

Cya!

I think anything you can do to add to the text and visualize your blog is sweet imo.

Getting tired of MTT bullshit.

Bubbled TWICE today in MTTs with MONSTER stacks going into 100 remaining players. ON the bubble, not near the bubble. ON the fucking bubble.

I get myself in a spot to coast to final table and something absolutely ridonkulous happens. /begin monkey tilt

The last 48 hours, MTTs can suck my balls.

RE: Bankroll progress report....

Anywho...

Here's some more graphs, "MTT only" and "MTT and SnG" combined.

When i was on the live MTT circuit i set my girlfriend up with FTP freerolls by adding a macro on my mac. It would auto-join any freeroll the moment it became available. She played maybe 5 times while i was away, and the dang thing signed up for about 100 freerolls during that time. Just an explanation of the first 100 games lacking any stats. They were free, and nobody played them lol. Sadly, it hurts my per-game win rate big time.

I have NO idea if this "MTT Only" graph is standard or not up to now. I have nothing to compare it to.

This graph sure is purty. It'd be purtier if there weren't 100 wasted games from the start!

Just got this email....

It has come to our attention that you have been abusing your chat privileges at the
tables.

We value our players and strive to maintain an enjoyable online poker environment,
free of harassment and name-calling at the tables. A copy of the offensive chat is
shown below:

07-Apr-2009 03:57:51 OMG phuckkkkk youuuuu

We have revoked your chat privileges for one month.

I really do need to STFU. I remember this exact hand....

I'm sitting on 12k with blinds of 25/50 (comfortable much?), i get dealt AA UTG. Villain across the table has 13k.

I open for 200, a short stack with 1500 shoves in MP, villain cold calls, it comes back to me and i make it 4500, villain cold calls.

Flop comes 27K all clubs, i have no club, i shove my remaining 7500 and villain snap calls.

Villain shows Ac3d.

Turn card: club

I stand by my chat. "Phuckkk youuuu." Villain put in 90 BB's preflop and also 150 BB's postflop on a draw. I think my chat is polite, considering how truly ignorant this player is.

Oh well, chatting only hurts my game anyways.

Good job FTP snap-responding to chat abuse reports, but tragic it takes days/weeks to respond to legit claims involving MONEY. Priorities phucked a bit FTP?

^^^ Yup! I can handle beats and ridonkulous plays in moderation, but when it happens all at once across many games for days on end i steam so bad!

FTP is in the right here, i'm an asshole. I have no right berating other players.

...Even if their name is Corky and they're legally retarded.

Life goes on, right?

I still stand by my chat though. lol!

RE: Bankroll progress report....

LOL - Yeah I was watching you play a $3 mtt where some guy called you all the way to the river with ak (for ace high) - i think you had something like a3 or something and bluffed him all in and he called.

The ensuing chat was pretty funny dude! Chillax bud!!

Imho the best thing that could happen is to get your chat taken away - you are distracting yourself - turn it off - I am not being a prick here, I just used to fire up like a frigging tool when I got bad beats and idiot players, it totally screws with your "game head".

It's not going to rattle 3 dollar players talking about their stats - they suck - they know - they don't care! (I'm talking about the under $5 tourneys here - it improves beyond this I believe)

Seriously, that's why bluffing rarely works - If I bluff with air on the flop and they call, I may try one more on the turn if I don't hit, but dude, they will call with anything - they hate the thought of folding hands like AK - EVER! - so when you have it, you clean them up - don't bluff morons - you said it yourself!

But man you are doing well in the challenge apart from this minor issue - you obv have the game - I am very impressed!

Good luck again mate.

- I used to be indecisive, but now I am not really sure -
