RE: reasons for calling off..?

another bad poker player who doesn't know anything about omaha. he probably thinks that top pair crap kicker is good enough, but my opinion is that he hasn't got a damn clue about what he's doing. but he made the call and won the hand, that's poker

When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading

wrong call on the flop, right call on the turn. if he had you read, then he has to trust his read that your hand probably didn't improve on the turn.

RE: reasons for calling off..?

Maybe he put you on a double flush draw in that case its a correct call. I doubt thats the case though he's probably just bad. I don't see why you were so eager to cram there. You said the guy was really loose. I think against most players your play would have been good. You can get them off anything marginal (like what your opponent had) and even if they have a made hand you were still drawing very live as the board was not paired. But against a guy who you know will call with top pair and stuff like that it doesn't make sense to me. If he's a calling station, he's going to call with whatever draw/hand he has considering he called your big raise on the flop. Semi bluffs are great against tight straightforward players but against calling stations why not just wait till you have a made hand and let him pay you off with top pair then. Thats the great thing about Omaha, you don't have to wait long to get a monster and have someone who thinks an overpair is good and take their whole stack. Patience almost always pays off where as in hold'em sometimes it does sometimes not.
